Fuel up/down again

Nothing wrong with supermarket fuel.
and the fact tesco 99 is now 104.99 makes me miss my 172.

ah well diesel is 103 at the tesco on way to work.

99.7p at Asda here. Not too shabby.

Shame about the queue of traffic leading up to the store though. Had the new Road layout not been built, it would have backed up the whole entry into Gosport...

I don't think I'll ever understand the bizarre thing quite a few people have against supermarket fuel. I've only ever really used Supermarket fuel in my cars - mostly due to convenience (Plymouth has no quality filling stations - the best we have is Esso or BP at 10p a litre more than everyone else) so it's Tesco or Sainsburys.

I've used supermarket fuel, branded fuel, 95 octane, 95 E10, 97, 99, and the only time I've ever noticed any difference is when I'm driving a car where the ECU had been specifically mapped for higher octane fuel.

I honestly think anyone who thinks standard 95 from Shell makes their car perform differently to standard 95 from Asda is simply wrong.

I'll specifically avoid Morrisons fuel but more because their pumps seem to be universally crap and keep clicking off, something I never have issues with elsewhere.

Performs? No, just maintains that performance for a longer time. Surprised Tescoclub haven't started selling oxygen sensors yet....

The best con surely has to be 'Premium Diesel'.

I'm not sure who 'Premium Diesel' is supposed to benefit but I can't think of many better diesel engines than the N57D30 and that doesn't require it....

No one will notice the different as the effect is over time. Dirty injectors and inlet valves with low additives fuels (supermarket).

It's worth paying 1p a litre more for decent oil company branded fuel.

'Super' diesel is good at keeping injectors clean and probably has a bigger impact on world PM emissions than any catalysts or DPFs

Same here, pretty much only used Tesco 95/99 in the last few cars I've owned, which I think is Esso anyway isn't it? BP is the only other 'branded' fuel nearby which is easily 10p more.
