Fuel up/down again

How nice of them to drop it a few pence. Sadly since I posted my calculations earlier Brent Crude has fallen further and I estimate it should now be 7-8p cheaper than the current average rather than the 5p before.

It does take a while for the price to filter through as refineries can have 6 weeks (possibly more) of pre-bought crude in storage.

How many of you now feel that fuel economy will be a major factor in your next purchase? It seems these prices are here to stay now.

I am pretty gutted as I would love to go back to petrol but the extra cost of having a petrol I would like I just cannot justify :(

I think people need to change the thought process of how many miles they do and what they can do to change it, move closer to work, find a job closer to home. Doing mega-miles is expensive and only worth it if you're quids in.

I sold my diesel as I don't do the miles any more (25k PA to 8k PA), my 'hot hatch' will still do 35mpg on a run which and round town is still fantastic.

My next purchase won't have any bearing on fuel cost really. Unless I change jobs I just can't imagine caring about fuel costs any more as I walk to work and back and drive for the fun of driving :p My MPG has actually gone down as well, 21 vs 27! No complaints though, £20 still lasts me up to a month :D

My local stations are a Tesco and a Shell. Shell is the first one that you pass heading into town from the motorway, the Tesco, brand new and been open for a few weeks is about 300 yards further down the road. The prices for both petrol and diesel at both have been up and down like a tarts knickers over the last few weeks, presumably the brand new Tesco is giving the Shell station it tight and Shell are responding in kind. 141.2 for the black smelly stuff and 136.4 for petrol.

Just grabbed 7x 5p vouchers on the bay for £4.80. :)

Not sure how long they have been on there for but just noticed the next avalanche of 5p off a litre Tesco vouchers has hit fleabay again. ;)

It's not worth the bother buying them off Ebay for 5p a litre, especially as Tesco generally seem to be 1-2p a litre more than the cheapest suppliers in the area anyway.
