Fuji X Series

Hopefully not breaking the forum rules but does anyone know a decent place to sell Fuji lenses other than the Member's Market. I have a mint 14mm for sale but not really in a rush and the quotes from the specialist camera shops are very low (the spread between their bid and ask is enormous). I've blacklisted eBay for life and refuse to ever use them again, any other options?

Outside of eBay not really - Perhaps some of the UK photography forums if they have a sales section? Though if you're not already on one, trying to sell something as a first time poster may be tricky.

I’ve only sold my gear on eBay - bar one occasion when I successfully sold a lens via Facebook marketplace (what a cesspit that is). I haven’t had an issue with eBay ‘touch wood’.
I’ve actually earmarked the 14mm as my next purchase however like yourself I’m in no real panic and if it’s in the condition you state then I dare say a little out of my price range!

Give me a shout down the line or I have a thread open in MM. As I said I'm in no rush to sell it and it has been very well looked after so would rather sell it on here than risk messing around with someone on an online market place.

FB market place - I'm sure some people have made great use of this but I lose faith in humanity every time I read public posts on the FB platform, people conduct themselves like feral idiots. Hopefully it's just the anonimity talking.

I pre ordered the 70-300mm, it was originally meant to be coming early May, I have had no update and the retailer is still showing pre order status for it. Has anyone else got theirs?

I got mine bag on official U.K. release date March 18th from Wex. However I preordered the morning it became available on the site so got one of the first batch, seems to be limited due to general global shortages on components.

Same here.

Yeah I got my preorder in only a few days before the official release date, so I am probably way back in the queue. Funny, I swear it said early May when I put it through, but I can't find anything saying that now. I do wonder if mine is on a certain container ship.

I contacted wex about it the answer was a generic "we have no eta" despite me asking some much more specific questions Oh well.

Put an order in for the 16mm 1.4. I've been eyeing this lens for some time for a couple reasons. The pseudo-macro capabilities for detail photos and having a wide bright lens for indoor event photos. I think it could also be a good lens for walking about new locations and capturing the scenes.

Ordered from E-infinity for £579 which is a decent saving over the £840 UK price.

For some reason I decided to sell mine and get the 24mm 1.4 instead. Wish I never did. The 16mm is a sublime lens

I sure did yes, the lens and that model is a fabulous combination. The camera was good but too small for me in the end. I've large hands and I would often find myself pressing the wrong thing especially with the touch screen. I also found the menus not particularly intuitive. That said, it's Fuji, and I'm using an XT-3 now, so that must say something. If you're used to the XT-4 I can't see a problem. Pocketable if you've large pockets.

Silly question but tempted to pick up a refurb X-T30 from Fuji. Does anyone know the deal with the shutter acctuations? Is it basically sold as a brand new camera or will it already have a significant count from its 'previous life'

I used them again recently for the 56mm 1.2 - couldn't be happier with the service and saved a fortune. I just sold my 14mm so the 16mm is next on my list - please do let us know your thoughts!

Thinking of changing some of my Fuji kit around. Currently have a X-S10 body on loan which feels great and a nice upgrade from my X-E2. I'm not sure which kit lens to go for though.

Current kit
X-E2 + 18-55 kit
14 2.8
60 2.4

The X-S10 feels really nice to hold and use, the grip makes it much more comfy than the X-E2. I'm more at home with the control layout as well originally coming from DSLRs.

It's available with the 18-55 or the 16-80 kit lens, any recommendation?
Also was looking at the 23mm primes, are these as well regarded as the 35mm primes?

X-S10 is a super little camera. I had an X-T30 and was more than happy with it as I’d pretty much told myself the X-S10 is an X-T30 with IBIS. However having owned one for a while it’s much more than that and as you say the ergonomics are excellent.
Kit lens wise you really won’t go wrong with either. The 18-55 is one of the best kit lenses I’ve used although I did eventually sell my copy and went for the 16-80 which I love. The 16-80 gets a bashing on most forums but I’m extremely happy with mine. Is it super sharp? No. But given the focal range it does an excellent job and stopped down it’s a fantastic landscape lens. Furthermore you will generally find the 16-80 will be sharper than the 18-55 across most of the range.
As for the primes I wholly recommend Fuji’s line of f2’s. No they don’t have the mystique of the 1.4 primes but they are pin sharp and have great AF - and weather sealed to boot.

X-S10 is going to be a better camera for sure, but don't forget you can add the Fuji grip frame to the X-E2. I got my (Chinese copy) for under £20, made it much nicer to hold for long periods or with bigger lenses, and takes seconds to take off it you want it super-pocketable again.

I have both the 23 and 35mm f1.4s. Technically the 23 is superior in terms of IQ- it's basically silly sharp. Focus speed and performance feels about the same, maybe a little better. Might just be me but it's also a little harder to get satisfying results out of. Also significantly bigger and heavier. If it were me, I'd start with the 35, but try both...
