Full Sleeve.

do it if you want it, its your but you'd be wise to listen to reason before getting it done. A full sleeve is a huge piece of work and if you don't like it, you'll hate it. I though i was taking a risk getting my tatt on my arm which covers 7" x 4.5", but i knew it was what i wanted and i got it anyway. Didn't regret it in the slightest:)

What? Tattooing?

Yes...A fad which has been around since the dawn of civilisation...It's just one of those things kids do...

Not tattooing that obviously isn't a fad, tattooed kid. :insertdoublerolleyesatconclusionjumpingimanindividualhowdareyouspeakoutagainstmyuniquestyleladhere:
His desire for a full arm covered in one is though, in my opinion, which is what he asked.

because that hasn't been around for thousands of years, right?

if you want it doing get it done, pref not coloured (looks better imho). Id love full sleeves doing but never get round to saving for them or deciding on a pattern which id still like to look at many years down the line. If YOU feel like getting it done, do it. You dont need permission for something or social acceptance due to other peoples "opinions"

grow some nads man :P

Neon hasn't.

whats your point? you've moved from tattooing is a fad (wrong), to full tattoos being a fad (wrong) to telling us that neon hasnt been around for thousands of years  well, thanks for that :o

I did not say that tattooing is a fad, I said that I thought that his desire for an arm full is a fad, in my opinion.
What's your point?

my point is that it isn't a fad. people have been doing for thousands of years, as i hinted at. a 'fad' would suggest its something that happened recently, the 'latest craze' and will die out soon - that is incorrect. Now common, you knew exactly what i was trying to say.

I have never said that tattooing is a fad FGS.

Have you got a girlfriend?

Really shallow point to make, but some girls may not like them - I know I don't :)

Just something else to think about - or not.

the tattoo will not be coloured at all. or shaded in, it will all be line work.

new skool themed, Geishas, and swallows. etc. ive gotta go look at designs soon with the tattooist after she has drawn them.

you said the idea of getting a full sleeve is a fad, right? FGS. you know (and if you dont, you should) I'm referring to full arm designs - how pedantic do you want to be?

i guess we'll just have to disagree with each other:)

the full arm tattoo isnt a fad. i looked into it, and really wanted something special and unique doing yes people have geishas and swallows. but in the style and line work i want doing no.

it will be unique to me.

No, I didn't. At all. Read again.

I know you are, I'm referring to the OP, Neon, the lad who posted.
Not you or anyone else who decides to get one, him.
I did not say that tattoos are smelly, or bad.
I think he will regret it, him.

Firstly, I'm not emo. :p

Seriously advise on getting something smaller first. Take that advice as you will.

Example - I nearly got flames tattooed up my forearms some years back. I decided not too because a) I wouldn't be able to work in the summer in a short-sleeve shirt and b) that nob-end from linkin park appeared on the scene with basically the same thing. Not an association i'd really enjoy.

If this is your first tattoo, and you are not 100%, but you want one - get something possibly more appropriate for your first. A few years ago I wanted to be covered in the things, much like that photo penski posted. These days i still love tattoo's but realistically, compared to six years or so back, i'd want to be a little more conservative.

Consider having something at the top of your arm, that you could maybe build into a full sleeve later?

I have some big tattoos, and in the future hope to have more work done - so please don't think this advice is coming from some anti-tattoo guy. But its a big impactful thing to have as a first experience, and without trying to be offensive or arrogant, its a little naive to think you might not feel different about it in the future.

Plus a full sleeve of laser removal isn't pretty either.

Either way, I hope you make the right desicion for you :)
