FX 8120

Placebo/Biased.

You want it to be an upgrade, those who won't/haven't bought it, are going to be less biased, especially those that wanted to buy it (I'm one of those)

So you telling me going switching from a Phenom ii x 4 955 isnt and upgrade, your confusing me mate

I'm not saying it isn't an upgrade, it obviously is, just the extent you'd notice in gaming is going to be nil.
Your CPU's bottlenecking your cards, it's amusing you handicapped your rig with a bulldozer.

Whats the best way for me to detect if there is a true bottleneck on my GPUs?

Play a game as usual with MSI Afterburner monitoring GPU usage, then take a look at the readings.

You'd notice better minimums and overall more stable GPU usage with a 2500k over your Zambezi.

So what would indicate a bottleneck, lower GPU usuage due to CPU restrictions? If i use something like 3DMark 11 and if im not hitting like 95%+ its bottlenecking?

i had a 8150, it was crap tbh. worser than the 1090t clock for clock...

for gaming using CF/trifire the 81x0 needs to be clocked to atleast 4.6 to get the same performance as a 1090t/1100t at 4ghz,

3DM11 is stupidly GPU limited.
GPU usage that is all over the place (Unstable) would denote a CPU bottleneck.

Play a game, I don't know, anything you have?

And even then outdone by a stock 2500k, as you found out yourself.

Like I was telling you back when you were AMD :p

Well here is my GPU usage on BF3 playing the single player mission "Fear No Evil" at 1080p with everything on ultra:

Is this a bottleneck?

BF3 single player at 1080p with everything on ultra

mines less bottlenecking than yours and thats with 3 gpus. with 2 gpus it stays at 100%

this game will bottleneck using sli/cf at 1080p with a 8150/8120

Someone should try benching BF3 on a 64 player op metro server, multiplayer is far more taxing on the CPU than single player is. I say 64 player op metro because it offers a reasonably consistent experience for fair testing, chucking nades up a hallway and dodging incoming ones :p
