** G-SYNC IS NEARLY HERE & MANY NEW MONITORS FROM AOC!! **

I hate the premium they use for gsync on all gsync monitors. I remember carmack at a event saying at most it will use a 30 dollar unit to achieve it. And monitor manufactures added a fat 100+ extra on em.. Such a shame.

G-sync twice the price!!!! Well I imagine they sell, the green fans seem to always find the money from somewhere

Eh I splash a fair bit on monitors and paid far more than £350 for some but no way I'd buy one of those given the premium over the regular model, not a chance.

Yeah the price for the Gsync screen does seem excessive compared to the normal version. When I saw the price I was hoping that maybe it was 1440p @ 144Hz with Gsync. Might have been a bit cheap for that, but it is AOC so not expecting ASUS prices!

It's robbery, these companies are out to shaft everyone of us.

That said, we aren't forced to buy their stuff. Still, they are complete rip off merchants and yes, i'm looking at you ASUS.

All the people complaining about the price of the gsync monitor need to actually use one then you'll be opening up your wallets if you own an nvidia gpu. I've used gsync for a while now and wouldn't go back to a monitor that doesn't have either gsync or adaptive refresh as the difference, especially in ANY game, is staggering from an IQ point of view.

Don't get the 'surprise' at the price from lots of people, especially Nvidia fans, whats that saying again, you get what you pay for. I can easily do without g-sync, have done for years, don't have an NVidia card anyway LOL. :D

Still, its over £100 cheaper then the Asus diy unit **** are selling...so pricing could be worse, much much worse.

It could also be looked at as an investment, if gsync/adaptive refresh operates how its supposed to, you won't be going out every year for a new card, as these new technologies combat that low frame feeling, you may find your self happy with a 40+ fps rate rather then 60+ on these monitors.

Wow, that is fairly expensive! Not sure how much it cost Nvidia to develop these but if it meant an additional £100-150 cost surely it wasn't worth investing the resources into.

I would pay a premium to be an early adopter and a premium charge is normal. G-Sync will hit more monitors and the prices will drop to a reasonable level.

Using what you've said you can do without any future technology then as you have done for years right?

still really want to see a review for the £180 monitor..!

£180 for 1ms + 1080p 144Hz just seems too good to be true.

would that be any good for stuff like League of Legends..?

what about darker games like Dark Souls 2? will the colours / blacks be decent enough or will everything look washed out..? :S :S :S

Of course Gibbo, the holy grail is 1440p 144Hz IPS with GSync/Freesync support.

I just can't go back to TN now. When I sit in front of a screen that uses it I can see it immediately and it bothers me.

I have had an IPS screen for my main rig for what must be about a decade now though. ;)

I'm with you, i'm running a 5 year old LG 21.5" IPS panel, everytime i look at a TN panel, no matter how new or good i can't help but dislike the picture quality.

Some decent panels tho Gibbo and for a good price, i'm waiting for a 24" 1440P IPS panel with Adaptive Sync, i was going to get a 1440P panel at some point soon but i'm going to wait a bit longer now.
