G5ive

Mmm! It's nearly Apple styling build quality. The little gap top right on the curve is killing it a little but I love it!

Its come out really well. Nice work dude!

Thanks! I was hoping for a kind of Apple-inspired interior to go with the case itself.
Sadly there's not much I can do about the gap, without removing the only part of the case which is riveted in place. The steel I used as cover has a much smaller gap than the foam I used as mock up though at least.

CPU temperatures under IBT is range from 52°C to 60°C (~30°C idle 22°C ambient)
GPU temperatures under Furmark reach 45-49°C (~30°C idle 22°C ambient)

All in all I'm really happy with the temps. I knocked the CPU down from 4.75GHz to 4.625GHz just because of the voltage, the temperatures were well under control.

I know I've said this build was finished.. BUT.. It finally is! I had a little trouble with the acrylic window but I'm happy to say that everything is now sorted!

I'm just going to leave this little gif here for now, more pics should follow soon...

And a still of the cleaned up insides - removed Alphacool logo (and ended up vinyl wrapping the radiator after the paint chipped off), made a cover for the top compartment, and fixed the GPU cables:

And here's a little gif showing how the 2 way mirror works:

If it's lighter outside the case, the acrylic is mirrored, if it's lighter inside the case then the acrylic is transparent. It looks amazing in the dark, the exposure in the gif doesn't really do it justice.

Here's a couple more shots of the build in the dark. Believe it or not these are all taken with the mirrored side panel on.

Absolutely stunning build.

Hows performance on the MIPS cpu block? Tis' very nice :D

Edit: Just seen MIPS have closed down, damn :(

That is! really something.

I love the MIPs block! Great performance with minimal restriction - perfect for my parallel loop.

I love the way you have looped it. Its looks top notch.

Very well done :)

Wow excellent stuff mate.

Thanks guys! I wasn't sure how the PC community would take to the Mac case, but so far so good - I'm chuffed you all like it!

Absolutely stunning! :D I might have said it at an earlier point in your thread but I wish I had the skills and the balls to tackle a project like this! I love the G5 cases. So much.

I actually cut a few corners on this build - especially with the cables - there's no where to hide anything in my new build though!
