US: Game of Thrones Season 3 (contains spoilers)

Never read the books.

Can't remember every being so shocked/engaged in an episode of TV before. Some have come close, very rarely, but this was just MAGNIFICENT!!!

In a totally bad way of course.

Couldn't get it out of my head for the rest of the night. Or today it seems. Brutal and brilliant!

But yeah, kinda running out of people to root for. Arya about the only one left that's got some *****!

Good to see the oath-breaker Robb Stark finally get what he deserved.

He treated the Freys like dirt - spurning marriage with the daughter in favour of some working tart he picked up in his camp.

He doesn't deserve sympathy. He broke his word (as did his mother) and had to pay the price.

The series is merely being realistic: the bad win, and they win by stamping on the good. Good Triumphing is for fairy stories. This is what Martin is trying to show. There are still some "goodish" characters around, so now we have to see how they do, and how bad they have to become in order to do so.

But that's just as unrealistic as the good guys always triumphing. I can understand that the Starks are too honourable and nice to be able to win the game, the same thing has happened to Robb that happened to Ned. However, it's human nature to root for the 'good' guys/side. Most people didn't root for Hitler, just like most people shouldn't root for the Lannisters. My concern is that GRR was so worried about avoiding Hollywood cliches when writing the books that he went too far the other way. I guess we'll find out with the last few books.

No. I wish people would stop saying Robb was honourable. If he had any honour he would have married the Frey girl (and still been alive).

He was an oath-breaker. A man without honour.

You're still supposed to like him though. Ned had honour and was killed for it. Robb is fighting for Ned, so the natural progression is to root for him.

It was fairly shocking to see it go down like that - but when Roose says he's married to a Frey and had a good dowry, having seen him release Jaime, having seen Theon in the position he's in and him letting slip about the boys... You had a feeling he'd stab them in the back.

I haven't read the books but I know it happened in the books ..... I still don't believe there's such an outcry on the internet over his death :p

One thing I know about GoT ..... actions have consequences and Robb went against his word, he bore the cost ;)

Great episode. The bit where they killed greywind wasn't nice but the way that they killed Talisa Maegyr wasnt only upsetting and brutal but probably one of the hardest scenes to watch in ANY TV show..

I couldn't resist and did a search for Lady Stoneheart... All I can say is.....

After last night I'm in two minds weather I want to continue watching as I was hoping for an improvement in the War and looking very forward to the sacking of the castle.
John Snow I think is the only hope for the Stark linage now, I did read forward a bit via the Wiki and I'm still not sure if I want to watch season 4 since I'm so disappointed.
