No 980/970 in this bench :( But shocked and stunned to see that nVidia once again are top of the table and quite comfortably except for 4K, where AMD edge in front. This will be a agme I will enjoy playing and I can see it eating up some home time as well and I believe it will have every conceivable tech from both AMD and nVidia integrated (except TressFX :D)

Most waited game for me since 2012.
This will be the game everyone dreams of since Wing Commander and Privateer...a gem among the BF and COD copycats

So far graphics aside wing commander secret ops is more fun IMO obviously early days though. So far though as far as single player dog fighting goes I'd rather play WCSO.

Thanks will look later. On my system in the area where you can move around ship and on the testing flight my fps was over 100fps on single gpu. To me the game isn't that demanding.

Am interested in what they was benching here

They were in flight moving around in what looks like an asteroid belt with a sun shining through.

Surely it will start to get interesting in a year or so, when they will be close to release SQ42, and after that the PU alpha/beta.
Until then we can just sneak peaking and testing the modules.

It seems a nice game i've followed for awhile, pretty sure i'll suck at it and get bored though. I hope it really does deliver on pushing graphically all the available tech

Interesting.

When I first saw those results I thought that it must have been old results, due to no 980/970's and only a i7 3970x. But that doesn't seem to be the case, upon reading a translation of the original article it looks like its an up to date test. so no idea why no 980/970's.

Addressing the point about the 290's, I did read this little snippet which might very well be relevant.

Our cards were tested at a resolution of 1920x1080, 2560x1600 and 3840h2160 at the maximum quality setting allowable Star Citizen. SLI and AMD CrossFireX is not currently supported by the game, and the SLI, we recommend disabling, as it works very ill and playability when it is zero. AMD cards have vertical sync forced through driver does not turn off, which causes the limit to 60 FPS in some decisions.

Here's a link to the translation, for anyone who wanted to read it.

I noticed the game runs better on my old Nvidia card (670) than my new R9 290, at least two updates ago. Maybe they have improved the compatibility a little bit since they introduced racing etc.. I haven't tried lately.

Mostly because Cryengine loves Nvidia. I'm sure it will all even out once the game is actually ready for release.

And it should have TressFX, as the last trailer actually included TressFX 2.0 with the woman pilot's hair.

I thought it was that trailer that prompted AMDMatt to say it didn't have it?
