More than 30,000 gamers have pledged to play Half-Life 2 in an attempt to send a message to Valve: stop messing around and start dishing the details on the next game in the series.

Organising the effort through a Steam group dubbed A Call for Communication, the gamers will be taking to the streets of City 17 on Saturday en masse in the hopes that a show of solidarity will convince Valve it's time to part the curtain on the next Half-Life game.

You in?!

Just let them get on with it and develop the frikkin game. We all know they take ages and we all know they create something amazing every time.

Stop throwing toys out of the pram because a product that is a luxury, not a right, isn't being paraded around in the fashion they wish.

Overreaction, no?

We would like at least SOME teasers, details, official words even a "We are working on it" message. There has been nothing official at all. I wanna know what happens to Gordon Frohman.

Yeah it would be nice, but would you goto them lengths to get it?

I hope you say no :p

I own the episodes, dont think I ever got round to completing them or even starting Ep2. Only just finished gta4 lol

The original game was great though, did that between xmas and new year when it was released. Unparalleled :)

An official statement of some kind, no matter how small, is long over due. It's all getting a bit long in the tooth now. I'm not a very big Half Life fan, well - of the second, though I did still like it quite a lot, but sometimes it feels like they've silently disassociated themselves with it. Simply by not releasing some media or up to date interview, apart from being completely avoidable, isn't warranted imo.

I'm sure the people at Valve are in a state of panic as we speak, preparing to release more HL3 info to appease these 'people' ... /sigh

it's.................only..................a....................game :)

If HL2 were a multi-player game then I could just about understand a large gathering in a certain area, City 17 in this case. However, with it being single-player only, what the hell will it achieve?
