Games cancelled!

Yep it's a bit silly, I can only think it was due to the more elderly fans who aren't as sure on their feet, a bit of snow or ice wouldn't stop me going to the game and if I slipped over then I wouldn't blame football, just like if I slipped on the way to the shops I wouldn't blame the shops.

Elderly fans? The bloody queues on the motor ways the widespread cancellation of public transport and poor driving conditions are the cause of cancellation. Not the worry that some old biddy might slip.

Also just read on another forum from a guy that works at the stadium that the upper tiers were too slippery and they couldn't afford people flying over the rails going down the stairs and the snow on the pitch was 8 inches thick

Anyone else watch Tomkins play and wonder how they aren't professional footballers themselves? He is scarily poor every week.

Wigan area was no go for cars, would be stupid making 9000 wigan fans have to get to DW, crashes, slips, massive queues would ensure.

I tried to get my car off the drive before took me an hour to get the snow off, got off the drive but the street was under 10 inch of snow.

He's just back from well, a half dozen injuries, and more importantly, in the past 3-4 games he's been pretty much outstanding.

As for the weather, theres really nothing more boring than the constant argument of other countries dealing with weather better. Its not WHAT weather it is, its if you're USED TO IT.

England by and large doesn't get massive snowfall, so when it happens we're not geared up for it. Somewhere like, Colorado in the states that gets crazy winters, will spend a lot of money on enough trucks to grit every road every morning all year if needs be and employ people for it.

Why would we do that here, pay a few thousand people 20-30k a year and thousands of gritting trucks and ploughs, for a week or bad snow, every 5 years, everyone would complain about the taxes required to cover them not working for 4 years 350 days between the bad snow falls.

For the Arsenal game, the covers were already off, the pitch was being prepared for the game and then you get several inches of snow in a couple hours, then you're screwed, it makes the pitch unplayable and theres no where in the world that wouldn't be true(obviously, pitches with retractable roofs are the exception (except that NFL stadium where the roof constantly collapses under the weight of snow )).

I hate Blackburn with passion. Watching their aerial balls all the time is frustrating and we have to match then unfortunately.

Hope we can snatch 3 points, we've played some nice through balls.

You're living in a dream world bud - did you actually watch the game?

The game was dross, 2 very poor sides on display but we didn't play long ball at all. Quite the opposite in fact.

Nevermind, you won't have to worry about playing us next season after you've taken a well deserved drop from the top flight. Well, either that or we'll take the plunge, neither would surprise me :p
