I had to laugh at the statistic that when city were last top of the league over the Christmas period (on the 28th sometime in the 70's) they went on to be relegated that season

City have been so unlucky. City have battered Everton all half but through a mixture of poor finishing, good defending and a lot of lucky defending, they've somehow not scored and with more or less their only 2 attacks Everton are 2-0.

Bit biased..

To be fair, they scored a goal right from the off (which any top side, shouldn't be allowing - or should at least look half awake, unlike City) and then they've sat back, letting the home-side try their best and will counter when they can.

It's worked. Not lucky. City aren't unlucky either, just need to keep trying because right now Everton have City worked out.

Don't think City will even get one back at this stage. Howard's not made that many saves the Everton defence has done well.

Everton are just taking a breather somewhat. Letting City have the ball, letting them run, letting them run around like madmen trying to get a goal back. Sooner or later the tank will run low and Everton might just go up the other end again and score one.

Definitely one of the more interesting games of the season.

City were on the front foot more or less the entire half and it was like pinball in the Everton 18 yard box.
