Gaming headset, Razer Kraken 7.1 V2 Vs HyperX cloud 2

But I do have the code for Razer surround pro
Razer Surround is certainly better than stereo, but neither I have found any actual test videos giving exactly good results.
Windows Sonic for Headphones seems to be around same level in feel of distance/space.
Anyway both these work with any physical sound card/output device.

It's gives an indication, but you also need to take into account how sensitive the magnets are to electrical current.
Unlike gaming brands Beyerdynamic tells that: 96 dB at 1 mW
And square root from power*impedance tells how much volts is needed for that 1mW.

I'm very aware P=V^2/R

However, I'm telling you, that regardless of the numbers provided, and what they're rated for, that the volume output PROBABLY won't be high enough for OP without a soundcard, and certainly isn't very loud to my ears, nor my girlfriends.

You need to consider:

Balancing volume levels
OPs preference for loudness
Audio from the game

Would the Philips Fidelio X1's be a good choice? There is a pair used on ebay for £75, are they good?
It should be very similar to Beyer DT990, so good bass immersion and soundstage step below top.
Very low impedance just makes them more sensitive to output impedance which could lower control of bass.
And not sure how well there's replacement ear pads available for them. (guess eBay has something Chinese)

Because ear pads get dirty/wear and eventually need replacing.
Gaming trinkets just can often break down before that.
So people might not be used to idea that pads of good headphones are actually meant to be replaced instead of always buying new headphones.
(AKG's pads make Beyerdynamic's pads look cheap...)

So why do you insist that without something wacky in implementation 1 Vrms into 32 ohms output can't easily drive 96 dB/mW 32 ohm cans to seriously hearing unsafe level.
(I didn't even have anything but Windows' own default drivers installed when testing myself)

And 85 dB is certainly maximum for safe long term listening.
Guess too loud listening can't ever harm others like some cigarette smoke, but still prefer to recommend others to "listen safely".

As EsaT said, they're great sounding. I believe they're open backed too, so will have a better soundstage than the MMX300. However, they don't have a mic like the MMX 300, and having owned the DT 990 250 Ohm, I prefer the sound of the MMX 300. I find the bass more suited to gaming, films and music. Any background sound impacted what I could hear with the DT 990s, which is why I ultimately sold them (I lived by a main road).

I bought the AKG K702 on Esats recommendation and the difference from my Corsair 1500s is amazing, one of the best upgrades i have ever done. ( i also got a soundcard after the disappointing output from my on board, it was a super cheap one though)

What was the model of your sound card and would you recommend it? Do you think I should get the Beyerdynamics or the Philips Fidelios?
