Gaming Laptops worth it?

Correct me if wrong but no G-SYNC on Alienware though :(

Yeah but it has one of the best screens out there according to some reviews for photo/video editing and color reproduction.

I don't do extreme gaming so not to bothered with G-Sync, I will mostly be using it to do visualization, and some gaming, but with the 4K screen the 8GB graphics is pretty much needed. The thing that lets it down for me is the limited 2 RAM slots, I at some point want to have 64GB RAM for working with full blown VM's running lots of app's / programs running, and testing and geeky stuff.

Well after much research and going back and forth, I've also settled on a G751JT. I found a pretty good deal on a version with a 256GB SSD instead of the 128, for a fair bit cheaper than the G752. So I've gone for it.

That's the exact model that I've got. The G751JT-T7115H, to be precise - and I absolutely love it!

I have my desktop for playing the latest games. It's not that high spec but runs most games pretty well.

I do use my basic laptop for games, but I love the fact in plays a different type of game than I would play on my desktop - Darwinia, The Banner Saga, Faster than Light, Civilisation...

If I was looking for a desktop replacement then power would be key. But a bog standard laptop adds to the mix.

Yeh I get ya. That's how I used my old Lenovo with a GT520m. I love how the G751 (970m) is powerful enough to actually max Civ 5 and other RTS games for years with enough power to play some AAA games.

I commonly work away from home during the week, have used my laptop more in a year then my gaming PC in 3+ years.

Even at home it's more social to set up laptop on the dining table than gaming in the loft, only when having friends round for gaming do I use my gaming PC now
