just run IBT 10 times max temp 42c my room is 18c,memory okay with memtest at 112%(took about 4 hour to get to this point) will run over night to be safe. just going to do grafix now

by top do you mean load temperature of cpu cores if so I would say that is a little on the high side considering you have the v6 cooler.

try reseating the cooler and makes sure it fits nice and tight.

Not sure - doesn't seem high to me for an air cooler. But you dont see many stock speed IBT run results to be honest. Crank it up to 4GHz then see how hot it gets and we'd have a better idea. 55 during IBT is nowt if you ask me and gives plenty of headroom to suggest you'll get acceptable temps when overclocked.

help please skylineboy's got me worried now about my CPU temp!

am i okay to use easytune to overclock as it has 3 pre set clock speed's

and when i look at my current speed in CPUZ core speed say's 3007.1mhz/3007.3 and i have't clocked anything yet is this correct??

Dont worry. The cores thermal throttle to protect themselves at 100 degrees. Anything below that is essentially fine, though we here tend to use the rule of thumb that you dont really want to go much higher than hitting the 80s during a stress test. Your gaming temps will be much lower than stress test temps too. So 55 during IBT (the hottest stress test - even hotter than prime) is really OK. Only if you get ridiculous temps when you overclock should you perhaps consider there is a problem - like maybe you got too much or too little thermal paste on. But I honestly think you're fine.

don't worry about that temperature. You won't damage anything. I just would have expected lower, but then again I don't use IBT much and underestimate the difference. sorry to worry you.

right all had it up to 3.8 and temps never went past 65c that was in IBT(run that 10 time on max), hit 67 in prime95 (run for 20mins). so all look's good then?? and dont worry about worrying me mate am glad for every one's input!!!!

Now they I know are good temps! What Vcore and QPI/Vtt are you needing for that 3.8 out of interest?
