Where do you get the idea that Thailand is tolerant of Drugs and Underage sex.?
You are in a world of pain if you get caught in Thailand with drugs or god forbid an underage girl.You would be begging them to send you back to the UK for trial.

Essentially yes. It's a common tactic used by despots and criminals to escape their wrongful deeds. I hope he doesn't succeed, but suspect he'll eventually find a 3rd world country that'll allow him in. He escaped from Thailand before the authorities there could carry out their threat to forcibly expel him back to the UK. Coward.

In Japan for example you can have sex legally at 13, it doesn't seem that bizzare a defense.

There should have been some agreement with Thailand to get him back over here by force.
Should change the laws so anyone that does anything like this must also serve time in their own country. A bit of time in Holloway prison would be justice, I doubt he would come out alive.

If it is true that they were 18 then I'm surprised some posters haven't been saying that Thailands laws are ridiculous.
Scenario -
You're 22 in Thailand on a sex holiday, you pick an 18 year old up and have sex.
You are now arrested for being a paedophile.
Doesn't seem fair.
However, something tells me these original girls were 13 from 3 years ago.
Which, on first thoughts sounds like it may have some credibility. Until you find out that the girls he molested were 11 and 12 years old.
I would have sympathy for someone who had 'underage sex' with a 17 year old and got banged up for it. But thats not the case here.
