Gary Mugson Sacked

Not surprising, he spent a lot of money there and the players never repaid that, especially Elmander and Muambo (sp?)

Fans never liked him neither.

I suppose Mark Hughes will be top of their wanted list but doubt he'd take it. Darren Ferguson it is then!

Hughes the favourite, Ferguson second.

Not sure why Hughes would go there having had an unlimited budget at City and then no money at Bolton, but at the same time he is a young manager that will be itching to get into it again straight away and prove himself. Plus its local for him.

As a loyal bolton fan, i have sympathy for him, hes tried his best and done well considering the situation, kept us up for a few seasons, reached the final 16 in the uefa cup, brought in some decent players considering the board doesnt have much money, has had to get rid of a lot of players. He has made some bad signings like elmander but cahill, taylor and steinsson and klasnic are under achieving.

Even before he managed a game, the bolton fans have not liked him, in one of the uefa cup games he was booed just for being in the ground.

I think hes done well considering he is not appreciated at all. IMO hes lasted quite long considering. How many managers have put up with as much abuse as him? It had to come an end sometime, the abuse couldnt have carried on, its not good for the players him or anyone else.

What ever manager they get in, they can only do so much with the limited funds from the board and the money making the board likes to do.

The one thing that the fans need to do which is vital is to get behind the manager and support him through whatever!!!!

Be a massive step down for Hughes. He's already had two clubs better than Bolton, he'd be better off waiting to see if anything else arises in the managerial merry-go-round.

I feel sorry for Megson.

Bolton fans have been spoiled by Big Sams latter years and seem to have completely forgotten that before that the best they could hope for was Premiership survival. Do they think someone like Darren Ferguson is going to lead them back into Europe?

They just have to look at the likes of Charlton to see what can easily happen to a small club when an over-achieving manager leaves.

Shame, but being a forest fan, we know more than most that when the wheels fall off with gary, it's hard for him to pull it back.

Might not show it, but just about every club the guys ever been at, the fans have been on his back early on. It must have an effect on the guys judgement somewhere along the line. One instance at forest where that certainly happend, after the game inviting a couple of fans that were giving him some grief in to the dressing room to address the players.

Tbh the guy might be better off out of the game for a while, he sounded kinda down last night.

I'm surprised he lasted as long as he did, I said on here he was a total loss when they installed him as manager and that he would be out within half a season.
He is a dreadful manager.

I disagree! :) Hes kept bolton up twice, got them into the last 16 of the uefa cup and signed some good players. I admit his tactics were sometimes a little defensive and didnt play the best looking football but it was effective and he could have done a much worse job :). Dont you think he did well with the fans and all?
