football managers + players = no loyalty

coyle should have stuck with burnley and at least saw out the season and see how far he could take them.

bolton for relegation, coyle with egg on his face :D

I doubt it. He'll know exactly the situation he is in, and I am sure will be lining his pockets.

No-lose for Coyle. Bolton are going down, if he turns it around he's a hero. If he doesn't the damage was already done.

fair point

It's sad to see the lack of loyalty in football and that nobody seems to want to stick in one place for a decent amount of time anymore.

Eh, it's not really "no-lose". He's built a great reputation for himself at Burnley currently, and there's not necessarily any guarantee he'll carry that over to Bolton. If he's unable to do anything with them, it'll damage his standing far more than Burnley going down would have done. It might well have been smarter for him to stick it out where he was, and wait for a better opportunity to present itself.

Look at Allardyce. Hero at Bolton, everybody was full of praise for what he'd done on a limited budget, and he was a decent contender for the England job. Now he's failed to do anything for Newcastle, is currently doing very little of significance for Blackburn, and he's not nearly as highly regarded as he once was.

I think Allardyce will do OK if given the time at Blackburn. The Newcastle post is a poisoned chalice with the delusions of grandeur there IMO.

Coyle has a decent reputation and that will be added to if he brings the Bolton ship under control, but I don't think it will be particularly damaged if he doesn't. They're already in trouble.

It does depend on the football they play from now until the end of the season, but he's certainly gone up a step.

If anyone had delusions of grandeur at Newcastle it was Allardyce. He's a crap manager hence why he's at Blackburn and nowhere bigger. Surely if he was such a great manager everyone would see past the 'delusional' Newcastle fans' complaints and he would've got a better job?

Even with this so called delusion (I'm not really sure what you think NUFC fans expect tbh and would be interested to know) how did that force Allardyce to waste millions of Rozenhal, Smith (60k), Geremi (60k), Cacapa (60k) etc.?

Look at his tactics for Blackburn, he has a CB playing upfront most games and then complains his team doesn't score enough. :o If someone like Benitez was doing that he'd be ridiculed by the media. Not so with Allardyce...
