No it's just the left trying to silence freedom of speech and any opposition since it's the only way it can survive if it shuts down any debate.

Freedom of speech doesn't include trying to use your freedom of speech to take away someone else's freedom of speech ;)

Doesn't it? Are you saying that no one has the right to tell someone else to shut up?

I am well within my right to tell someone to shut up. Doesn't mean they have to listen....

I do find the GB News schedule a bit odd to bring things back on topic. I saw Andrew Neil's show or one of them started at midnight, surely they'd be better having their top presenters on during peak times.

They said that about Covid being a leak from the Wuhan lab but it's not looking so much like a conspiracy theory when no natural signs of the virus having developed in nature have been found yet. If you don't discuss such possibilities you're potentially letting a perpetrator(s) off effectively mass genocide or gross negligence. Sometimes 'spreading conspiracy theories' is being conflated with debating news, exploring what hasn't been ruled out.

That isn't the conspiracy I was talking about and so far that is a possible theory and nothing more.

I'm talking about saying lockdowns and masks don't work at protecting the public. I see more and more people refusing to wear masks in supermarkets. It is the ultimate in selfish actions and pushing nonsense like this on their channel just makes it worse. I wonder how long it will be before they raise the "vaccine makes women sterile" conspiracy theory.

You are assuming he is their top presenter?:p Perhaps they see it differently for the audience they are going for.

Anyway I thought Andrew Neil was daily at 8pm, prime spot? Or did you forget to convert local Russian time to UK time before you posted comrade? :p

Looking at their schedule, Michelle Dewberry 6pm-8pm, Andrew Neil 8pm-9pm and Dan Wooton (ex Sun showbiz editor eg scum) 9pm to midnight are clearly the three big hitters.

Not sure about Andrew Neil's regular "wokewatch" segment though. Will certainly appeal to a lot of posters on here who seem to have a chip on their shoulders about wokeness. Will have to watch it and see.

why is it wrong that people criticize organizations? Is it wrong thst we hsve a thread ln ocul complaining at the TV license fee and want the the licende fee dropped? Is it wrong that people criticize companies that use child labour, or poléute the environment?

No one is forcing companied to drol advertising. The companies do whatever is best for their revenue.

I suspect they don't wsnt to be associated with a so called news agency that is already spread covid conspiracy theories

Jesus wept.

For the third time, no one is saying you can't criticise a company.

You're just the same as religious nuts protesting outside a cinema for showing a controversial film. Yes, you're free to do it, but it is wrong.

"If you dont bow down to my wishbone I will make you suffer"?

That sounds like coercion and intimidation tactics.

Surely the advertisers knew what kind of a news show GBNews was going to be before they decided to advertise with them? It's pretty amusing how quickly they folded to opposition really.

It was touted as a truthful, middle of the road, hard hitting news program for the common people/silent majority/middle on the road. I can see why you would want to advertise on it as it had potential to reach a wide audience.

Turns out its just a daytime opinion piece current affairs program aimed at anti woke and full of opinions and conspiracy theories and lacking facts so far. Its like a 12 hour "One Show" for the right biased anti-woke.

As others as said, the sensible advertisers would have waited to see how it turned out first.

Not sure about Andrew Neil's regular "wokewatch" segment though.

So far it's just been a fairly sensible five minute slot, Neil chatting with Andrew Doyle about some silliness of the day.

From the build up pre-launch I was worried it'd be a 30 minute anti-woke Mash Report/You've Been Framed with Andrew Doyle as Harry Hill.

By the looks thats all managed by another company and most werent aware.

Advertising slots on GB News are marketed by Sky Media, the advertising sales arm of Sky Group, which represents about 130 other channels, more than any other company in the UK. A company spokesman declined to comment.

Companies advertising on television tend to hire media-buying agencies to buy slots on their behalf, according to audience categories such as age and income, rather than targeting specific channels. This means that companies often do not have advance knowledge of where exactly their adverts will be broadcast.

Advertisers pay advertising "placement" organisations to place their adverts where they will attract most customers.

The advertising "placement" organisations select where to place the adverts and are doubtless subject to "incentives" ;)

I think its on a rolling repeat cycle i.e. its not live at that time. Probably only have enough money for a set number of hours and have to put it on a repeat.

Lets face it the only thing worth watching at the moment is Andrew everything else is filler just now.

I see, I've not payed much attention to the schedule as I don't tend to watch tv like that, I tend to pop in to what's on when I have a moment. I think it's generally a quite time news wise at the moment but it will come into its own I'm sure during things such as the next general election when labour try to sell everyone magic beans such as Abbot's lack of grasp on finances to pay for the promised policing improvements.

Well then, what a great time to launch the channel, a mere 3 years before the next General Election

And speaking of living rent free in somebody's head...

when labour try to sell everyone magic beans such as Abbot's lack of grasp on finances to pay for the promised policing improvements.

And yet the Tories were let off the hook by outspending even Labours ambitious plans.
