love it when they miss off the 1080ti during reviews like that one. nvidias dirty little secret.

The link also had the 1st review. The pics in that post are the 2nd review I found.
After review the charts of the 1080ti, I would agree with you.

But I'm still shocked that 5700 isn't at the bottom of the chart using UE4.

The same goes for the 5700XT & 2070 Super then. ;)

The 5700XT performs a lot better than I thought it would. Not quite VII performance but it has a solid lead over the V64 which is nice to see.

Theres plenty of life in the old dog yet. My v64 on water averaged 76fps in the benchmark at 1440p ultra settings with 15 AO, 15 particles and the ultra hd texture pack.

Nice, Their still solid cards, more than capable at 1080p or 1440p & will remain so for the forseeable. I must admit I was surprised to see the GTX 1080 giving it a kicking in the earlier Gears graphs but thios newer one has them head to head which seems more accurate.

But there is something quite intriguing about these results.
If you look at them graphically there isn't much difference. Sure, Sure, GOW5 has the "ultra pack" but nothing mind blowing better then GOW4 was. Yes, GOW5 looks better, but does the performance drop justify it?

(Best viewed in Full Screen for side by side comparison)

IMHO both AMD and Nvidia still have something in the tank to top out performance in this game. Specially for the lower end cards.

The driver update definitely boosted performance.

My 2080ti now gets 70fps at 4K Ultra in the benchmark which is 5% higher than the pre game ready driver that was released today

The new driver was blue screening my 2080 until I did a Windows update which seems to have sold the problem.

I play the Gears 5 campaign at 4K with HDR on ultra and had to lower shadows and SSR to high to get 60 fps. With this driver I am able to put them back up to ultra so there is a major improvement.

The 2070 Super, 1080Ti and 2080 are all roughly around the same performance. Not sure what benchmarks you are looking at where the 1080Ti stomps the 2070S. Here is a breakdown of 20 + games.

https://www.techpowerup.com/review/nvida-geforce-rtx-2070-super/27.html

Well stomps is subjective and maybe a slight exaggeration but I would say gears 5 is an easy win for the 1080ti and again that extra 3gb of ram. If you are not concerned with raytracing the 1080ti is the better card imo..... Certainly not worth "upgrading" to (again imo)

That link has the 2080 10% faster than a 1080ti. I question that as well

But all that said I admit I was wrong about the super. The plain 2070 though I stand by

The simple truth is that they are about equal in performance. The only difference is that Nvidia will continue to optimise for the 2070 Super and not the 1080Ti. So the going forward the 2070 Super will improve but the 1080Ti won't.

Within a few driver releases the 2070 Super will be as fast or faster than the 1080Ti in Gears of War 5.

The 2070 Super is faster in VR.

The 1080TI is a great card, but, unless you are getting one a lot cheaper, the 2070 Super is a better buy at this stage. Even if you have no interest in RTX, it's still a better buy.

Where does the link I posted have the 2080 as 10% faster than the 2080Ti?

Indeed see my edit I admitted I was wrong about the 2070super it is actually unfair to class alongside the 2070 which the person I quoted initially did. The 10% is In the link (unless I am having a total mare) (bottom graph on link1080ti 98% 2080 108%

Ah, yeah, I misread your post, thought you said 10% faster than the 2080TI :D

But the 2080 been between 8% and 10% faster than the 1080Ti is about right. It only amounts to a few frames/second though. In real world gaming, I don't think anyone would notice the difference between the three cards(2070Super, 2080, 1080Ti)

Makes me feel better about buying second hand 1080ti FTW3 few days ago. Apart from being last gen it is a great card with all the temp sensors etc.
I did remove the cooler tho and mounted an old GPU water block that I had laying around to get those few more MHz out of it.
