GeForce GTX 590 Key Features Revealed

IMO both the 6990 and the 590 are failed cards but I tolerate that some may disagree.

I wouldn't also go as far as slating Nvidia for the pricing as they generally put a significant mark-up on their products and yet their priced their lead card at the same level as the competitor. As for the UK pricing - no comment from me. False economy really.

I agree... that the 6990 can't top a "broken", "unworkable", "hot" and "loud" architecture with its supposedly superior design means its a failure I guess and the 590 its silly pricing when I've been using a similiar performance setup (GTX470 SLI) for months now and cost me half the price of a GTX590.

Would have to agree. Hopefully the next generation is better.

I don't understand this part, have some people said that to gain the upper hand or something?

But it did.

They are pretty much on par out the box give or take the odd benchmark/settings neither is significantly slower or faster than the other.

Theres been a lot of comments about Fermi being a bad design, yada yada and can't possible be "workable" as a multi GPU setup... yet its seems it can atleast match the competing design that some people have held up as being the superior one...

Smaller die, near equal performance=superior.

Oh, I see.

Well at 600MHz it's good and reviewers have been doing safe OCs but the cards have been dying due to the power management. Wouldn't say it's matching for reliability. :p

this is something i can never grasp, maybe because ive never had a noisy card/s
but surely if your playing games, the sound from the game drowns out the fan noise ?

Yea but what seems to be the issue is when the game you like to play is Furmark and for no reason you put powertune to +20%. Now if Furmark had a good soundtrack and effects the problem would be solved...?
