GeForce GTX 770 Specifications Leaked, Could Surprise with Pricing

Um without a Titan cooler this is even more of a simple rebrand  GTX 680 GHz Edition - so what's actually changed other than factory OC on the memory?

Few hardware bugfixes, probably better max memory clocks which helps to make up for the otherwise somewhat underwhelming memory specs as well as potentially better core overclocking. Have to admit even tho its just a cooler having the titan cooler on it might have got me to buy even tho I'm really holding off now until maxwell.

Anand have the GTX 770 winning 6 of the 10 games benched. Not bad at all and going by the prices, it is looking pretty good for both, with healthier competition.

YOUR BASKET
1 x KFA2 Geforce GTX 770 2048MB PCI-Express Graphics Card (77XPH6DV6KXZ) £329.99
1 x VTX3D HD 7970 GHZ X-Edition 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £319.99
Total : £661.38 (includes shipping : £9.50).

Let the fighting begin :D

Was having a look at reviews on the 770 and as people have said, its simply a GTX 680 with faster RAM and GPU boot 2.0.

Was also reading that in theory you can Custom Flash your 680 with 770 bios and effectively have a GTX 770. (not that I would dare try)

Wonder if people will be brave enough to give it a go and see the difference.

Presumably the 770 has better memory chips being clocked at 7Ghz rather than 6 and anand got it to 8Ghz?

I can get 7Ghz on my 680 not sure I'd hit 8

I believe they are using better memory that leaks less.

To the peeps who are saying it is just a rebadged, overclocked 680, it is! The price and stock clocks are the reason to be looking at these. Surely a 680 that matches the 7970GE for performance and price isn't a bad thing?

Indeed no doubt it is a rebadge with an overclock and better memory chips but that isn't bad in itself, £330 was lower than I was expecting especially as some have the titan cooler but most seem to have decent coolers if not on a cursory glance.

I just see Inno3D has the Titan cooler on it. I didn't think any of the cards were coming with one :)

Can't see the point in a 680 at £329 now? Surely they'll need to drop more.

They can SLi with another 680
They come with Metro last light
They use less power

not many points I concede so potential buyers will be limited but so is supply, once their gone their gone so its not like massive sales are needed.

I bought a 570 a few years back when they were relatively new still, can't remember the exact price of the card but I think it was similar pricing to this 770 now? If I wanted to upgrade for similar money would what be the best option? I did read that the 2gb memory may become an issue later, it is just an oc'd 680 and isn't on the Gk110(not sure what that really is but know it is newer). So not really sure this is such a great buy?

I don't keep up with cards/cpus until I fancy an upgrade and have to look around. As much as I would love a 780 not sure I can justify the cost.

I'm in the same situation as u considering 570 -> 770 upgrade. I am going to go for it because:
  • Almost double FPS in BF3 (just referring to this for the purpose of having a benchmark)
  • VRAM up to 2GB from 1.5GB (this should be plently at 1080p for a while to come unless you are an AA hog/modder)
  • Newer branding so will hold value longer than if buying a 680 now
  • Most people will not be ditching 680s to upgrade to this as there is not much difference, so there won't be many for sale in the MM
  • It's £200+ cheaper than the GTX780 for only about 10 fps less in BF3 @ 1080p
  • I want a new toy to play with ;)
Yes, I have also written this to convince myself :D

EDIT: from anand's review -
The GTX 770 delivers an average performance improvement of 75% over the two-and-a-half year old GTX 570, which is roughly what we’d expect for jumping from one mid-generation card to another.
