Geforce GTX 780, 770 coming in May

looks like it - there could in theory be 6GB version but the price difference between that and a Titan would probably be negligible, and if you want more than 3GB then you are probably running a crazy resolution to which Titan would be more suited anyway
and/or there could well still be 4GB versions of the 770

780 could be a good card if it clocks higher than Titan and comes in at a reasonable price. There can't be many people with gaming rigs requiring over 3GB VRAM.

As i see it 680 +50% more stream processors, + 50% more memory bus width, + 50% more vRAM sounds good to me.

Under £500 it'll be bought immediately on release!:p

Not for me, I wanted a die shrunk chip. Not really fussed if its red or green but I want less power and heat.

If this is not a die shrunk part then I am out.

I don't get where you get the idea of the 780 could clock higher than the Titan, when it is a cut-down version of the Titan...

Less SMX units and less VRAM mean it has a higher chance of clocking higher than Titan, iirc. Doesn't mean it will offer better performance though.

e.g. 780 @ 1100MHz = Titan at 1000MHz. etc...

Exactly. Potentially stock Titan equaling performance in a lower price bracket. Not convinced it will do this, but its a possibility.

3GB of VRAM seems fine - I'll be gaming at 2560x1440 resolution, so the 780 might be the one to go for. It all depends on prices really, if the GTX-770 comes in at a very nice price point then I may buy 2 of them instead of 1 GTX-780.

Bigger chip and more memory near the 680's release price?

I reckon 780 GTX £450-£500
770GTX £300-£350

(these are what the proposed euro prices indicate as well)

They will alienate most of the market if they price them higher than that. As these will be there more mainstream cards (760,770,780) in comparison with Titan, there is no way they will give them stupid prices. I would imagine the market for people spending £500+ on a single graphics card isnt that large.

Thinking about it, if they DO come in at £500 - they'll also steal many of the users who would go to AMD. They can afford to make a little less profit on the 780, as they'll make the money from the 770 and lower with it being a rehash.

That would be good for the consumer. Not so good for AMD...

So hopefully we will see the 770 come in at about the 7970 GHz price and speed and the 780 between the 7970 and the titan but half the price of the titan.
