you know full well that any of the people expressing a genuine interest in Titan is not running a single screen, or even 1080p
for those of us running proper PC resolutions and not 5 year old console resolutions, a new card that can be SLI'd to an extent not possible with any other graphics card has "value", whether or not you choose to see that
mindlessly insulting people who can afford a better PC setup than you is rather childish
So this card appeals to a minority. A very, very small minority. Fair play ! however, I am simply looking at it from the real world with one screen and it is incredibly disappointing. Am I right? 10 FPS over a 680 for nearly three times the price is ridiculous.
Three screen gaming is another one of these tiny niches. Am I ****ging it off because I can't afford it? nope. Why?
Already been there mate.Seen it,done it.
What worked? about three games looked right in surround. They were all driving games. The others? the graphics displayed on the side screens were so stretched they looked like you were right up close to them. Turn to the middle screen and you find they were miles away. Incredibly distracting in a game like Fallout 3 where you think you have a Deathclaw in your face only to find it's half a mile away.
So yeah, I spent £40 on each screen and ran it for about a month. Right behind it of course I had this.
Because relying and depending on something so niche and specialist always resulted in tears.
I've also run Quad SLI, triple SLI, Crossfire, tri fire AND quadfire. They were all about the same.
So as for money and being down on people who can afford a better set up than me? I don't think so, mate. I just prefer to spend my money where it is better spent on things that work and that can be used 24/7 without relying on support that just isn't there.
When I set up all of the above I went into it with
no illusions whatsoever. I knew what I was getting into but did it merely to experiment and have first hand experience of the subject/s at hand. I now have more than enough experience with which to draw my conclusions.
And they are as follows.
I won't throw ridiculous amounts of money at stupid technology that isn't supported because the only people who buy into them have more money than sense.
As for my financial credentials? I have a credit card with a £30k limit. I could quite easily order myself a "pee the highest" computer but there's no point. Whilst my pee may raise I will experience nothing I could not experience with the PC I have now.
The
only one of these niche technologies I actually developed a love for is 3Dvision. However, once again it is buggy and in some cases just plain broken. Still, once you have the correct monitor you can always disable it and everything continues as normal.
