German Grand Prix 2012, Hockenheim - Race 10/20

Wait... what?

The Stewards received a report from teh FIA Technical Delegate, along with specific ECU data from Red Bull Racing Cars 1 and 2. The Stewards met with the team representitives and the representitive of engine supplier Renault.

While the Stewards do not accept all the arguments of the team, they however conclude that as the regulation is written, the map presented does not breach the text of Art. 5.3.3 of the Formula One Technical REgulations and therefore decide to take no further action.

Hamilton has 2kg too little fuel, TO THE BACK!
Red Bull run a car that is illegal... Oh, go on then...

New directive about over taking from Charlie.

This should muddy the waters given that at the last race there was a new directive from Charlie.

Bet the rules change for Hungary though, Red Bull just can't seem to cope without engine maps and blowing the diffuser. Would be great to see how good Seb really is without his engine maps and extra downforce.

Given that the stewards have taken no further action, does this mean that there can be no further Tecnical Directives to ban what they are doing? If they don't, does this mean a technical precedent has been set and the other teams can emulate this Red Bull map?

All we can hope for now is the FIA appealing the Stewads decisions. Like they did with the BAR fuel collector.

FIA Technical Delegates found something amiss - Reported to stewards - Stewards cleared it as ok - FIA appeal - BAR banned for 2 races.

Essentially what they are doing IS against the rules, but as usual because of the crappy way the FIA have worded it redbull have technically got around it. If they fix the wording it can be stopped.

You have to respect them for trying, but when it's blatantly against the rules then you really ought to intervene. Surprised they haven't said its against "the spirit of the rules" a la the f duct.

Expect a red bull 1-2.

Never going to happen is it? It really is just a ******* joke. RBR do my head in, they seem to get away with murder in my eyes.

Sure, it's fine to push the limits. But they've never actually been done for anything.
