German Grand Prix 2012, Hockenheim - Race 10/20

Oh..massa..lol

I never realised that he qualified so far down the grid (14th).

I also noticed that Button qualified ahead of Hamilton. Had this been a totally dry session, I would bet my house that Hamilton would've qualified comfortably ahead of Button.

As I posted down under...

If RB are found guilty they should be made to run from last grid positions to ensure they still put wear & tear on an engine/gearbox

Hello everyone!

Was building bedroom furniture yesterday, so watched qualy but on and off.

Can't say I was happy about pole, lets hope for a better race for everyone else today, have they said anything about the weather?

Dry but some clouds, expected to stay dry

I'm getting access denied on the image Shimmy has posted. Anyone else got a link?

I've no idea how running lower torque than possible in the mid rpm range affects anything though, gonna have to wait for an idiots guide from Scarbs or Ted.

It means they're running throttle without all the power going through the drive train. Read: off-throttle blowing.

Apparently the engine maps are extremely difficult to read (which is odd, given that the ECUs are all identical), so proving it may be a bit of a lengthy process, if it's proven at all, so any decision may not be made today.

Ah so its not when the driver is on the throttle (i.e. accelerating), but rather when he is off it the engine is running at a speed but delivering much less drive than it should at that speed, but still producing the same exhaust gas flow.

Gotcha.

I hope it doesn't take long to prove, F1 doesn't need a long winded drawn out farse.

Did Martin just say they had already warned Red Bull about using this map? so the FIA knew about it previously and done nothing?

What the?!??? Now coming through on Twitter from a few places.

No action against Red Bull

Expect everyone to be off throttle blowing at the next race... *sigh*
