First of all you "Wise guys" dont need to suck each other off, one post will be enough! secondly lose the forum mentality, i said "better" which does not mean "faster" Nvidia cards Might show faster speeds in benchmarks but thats because benchmarks such as 3dmark 06 or more so 11, are setup in such a way they favour the design of a Nvidia card over that of an Ati, also for the price when released its normaly the case using say the 5800 series for example, you could buy a 5870 and 5850 CF them for not many £££ more and beat the 480 all day long if power heat and noise dont bother you!

If you dont like it dont post here,im just posting facts from my experience from owning the 2 cards

Ive also owned 5870 CF and it was not brilliant tbh and i sold 1 5870

You keep mentioning benchmarks do some serious research and look at the the gaming side of things and you will see the 480 is better and again i will mention the better minimum frames the 480 has over the 5870.

Carry on with the attitude and im sure you will go very far on these forums

My last post to you also im not getting into a pointless argument, welcome to ignore.

Have have no attitude, i just really dont want to argue about Nvidia cards, i like ati over Nvidia for a number of reason's one being they shut down 3DFX and if you were around for the voodoo and voodoo series you would know that they lead the market in 3d cards and im sure we would be a lot further along if they still exsisted. Also the fact they stopped all support they day they took over turned a lot of people against them.

Seeing as you obviously can't be bothered to read the real game benchmarks yourself, I'll bring them to you!

As you can tell from the results, the 480 is quite a bit faster than the 5870 in a good range of games.

Now while the 5870 is a good price at £160, for just 30 pounds more the 480 can give you a nice boost in performance across the board.

Instead of proving to everyone on the forum that you're a complete tool, go and do your research before posting utter BS.

If you read my posts again "you seem to be good at this" you have missed i commented on the temps, wattage used and noise from this benchmark, so its apparent i have "bothered to read it"

Only half an inch from the very top of the screen when clicking certain items/buttons or scrolling Catalyst Control Center. Happens the same places everytime.

It's a idle clock driver issue from what so many have said. Now the fun part is how to get AMD to fix it and how long before the fix will filter through the drivers. Soon as any load goes on the GPU like Youtube it goes away.
.

I followed the instructions here and it fixed the problem for me. I had flickering about an inch from the top of the screen, but only when in 2d 'mode'

It raises the 2d speeds. If I recall the guy doing the video gets the numbers wrong in his talkthrough so watch the screen for the right numbers! I think his video was for fixing an issue with crossfire but it worked on my single card xfx 5870- cant recall which drivers I was using at the time though

So you didn't say this then? which is what I quoted!

I've already made my thoughts on heat and wattage quite clear in an earlier post, you must have missed this?

In my world better card means better performance, who gives a damn what the power consumption is, or how hot it runs?

If these things concern you that much then you shouldn't be buying a top end GPU at all, as they all suck up lots of power and generally run quite warm!

I buy a video card to play my games with all the eye candy turned up, not worry about saving the dolphins!

well those benchies you put up do not agree with actual gamers footage...?

I abandoned the Nvidia ship during the 280gtx phase....the heat/ power cunsumption /Price was ridiculous and peformance was not that great either.

since then the best value card I have owned was the HD4850 from Ocuk, skinny and it did the job.
