after a very sensible and slow drive to my Mum and Dads today(140 mile round trip managed a quite amazing 42.5 mpg in the LCR

albeit i were driving like a granny at no more than 70 at any point but woot thoroughly impressed,

that said managed the same journey on Fathers day(Yesterday) with an average of 18.7 mpg :)

You missed my point. I don't (didn't) think that anyone would care about his fuel consumption.

I was wrong evidently. LCR fuel consumption data between people who already know it has obviously become fascinating.

stuff of legend :) seeing that average mpg above 30 let alone 40 is miracle stuff.

back to the real day to day stuff tommorow so will be down in the 20's as usual :(

It isn't amazing, its a 1.8 litre petrol engine, its to be expected.

No it isn't. Don't be daft. Even at motorway cruising speed the turbo is spooled up. You really have to drive like a loser to get this kind of economy, that's why I've only managed it twice.

Typically, its hard to get over 30MPG.
