Used these chaps before, Be aware though that its shipped in from Germany I think and thus takes a few more days than normal, but everything weve ever bought has always arrived hassle free

1 cat litter box with lid/hood with lid? how will the cat use a lid? get a normal 'tidy tray' (0the kind that fits into those racks of trays that schools use)
2 cat carrier small/medium
3 cat scratching post
4 cat bed TESCO/ASDA
5 cat bowls TESCO/ASDA
6 cat brushes TESCO/ASDA
7 cat collar TESCO/ASDA
8 cat litter try with no hood for placing bowls in use a normal placemat (TESCO/ASDA)

Tbh depending on if you are having an indoor/outdoor cat I wouldnt bother with bedding etc as no doubt he/she will use your bed first of all.

in expierience i dont think any of our cats have used there beds  theyd rather sleep upside down on a concrete floor or ballanced on top of a radiator or some other silly place

Scratching posts are a waste of time and money. My cat used his once or twice but then decided that the he still preferred the bottom of the settee and chairs.

This is true actually, we bought our 2 a bed each, Ruby simply refuses to use a bed preferring to sleep where she chooses, Murray claimed both beds along with 2 window cills, our bed, the sofa and the bed in the 3rd bedroom.

Another vote for these guys. Stuff generally arrived fairly quickly with no fuss.

Pets at Home were doing cheap hooded litter trays for a while. I think it was £10 for the one we got. They tend to hide the smell a bit better, our cat likes his privacy and it stops any chance of him missing the tray and getting pee on the floor!

If you insist on getting a cat bed thing, get the ones that hang over a radiator, they seem to prefer those ones. My cat is terrified of his cat bed and spends most of the time sleeping on the couch/floor/our bed anyhow.

Some cats use scratching posts and some don't. Our cat has no clue what it is but he also doesn't scratch the furniture either so we're quite lucky.

Yup.

We got a little bed for our cat when we got her from Blue Cross.

Haven't seen her use it in ages, she'll just find a sofa/bed/sink*/vital document to sleep on.

*She loves sleeping in sinks/baths.

Going on past experience with the cats we've had, you won't need a bed and a scratching post is useless.

They never use the same place to sleep so a bed is pointless and although they might use a scratching post, it doesn't mean that they won't use anything else.

The rest can be picked up from any supermarket really.

Ours (we have 3 of the bloody things) always use the scratching posts and have never scratched the furniture, they are all house cats also.

ASDA or TESCO for your bowls, litter tray etc.

WILKINSONS (or other discount store) for a small-medium cat carrier & bed.

LOCAL PET SHOP for a brush & collar.

Then when you can afford it......

ours have never used posts and never used furniture. about 6 cats over the years

the fence post nearest backdoor is shredded to bits though !

You can get the cat bed and cat scratching post for free if you don't buy them cos you won't need them. Cats sleep different places all of the time and none of my cats have ever been near anything that I've ever bought for them to scratch.
