Just out of interest and not trying to start a which is best arguement but why do you say that? I thought the appeal of the GP2X was that you could run all sorts of home written code, which can also be done with the PSP.

Without the legalities of emulation and PSP needing older firmware, the GP2X can play DivX/Xvid to a higher resoltion without conversion than the PSP.

Whats is it with people in this thread... if you must know i want the PSP not just because it can play games its other uses eg MP3 player, video player, wifi and what ever else you can do with it...

I DONT WANT A DS.....

Woah hold up. I get the impression you don't actually want a DS??!

I did think of one PSP title that interests me: MGS portable Ops.

I DONT WANT A DS.....

as for not knowing what games i want is a total joke.. in my first thread i suggested a few title and wanted to know the opinions of some owners who might have these games.. Simple question realy..

If i wanted a DS i would have got one but i dont so i would like to ask the people who still have the first question in mind what they think of the games in the opening post and any others i may have over looked...

Sorry if this sounds nasty but if i wanted to know what was a better handheld i would have made a thread about that... And in my eyes the PSP is a better handheld for me..

Para 1: You can do that with a DS
Para 2: OK!!
Para 3: It's not a joke, you don't know because you are asking wether they are any good, it means you are not sure. Nothing wrong with asking oppinions mind.
Para 4: Fair enough.
Para 5: No need to apologise, it didn't sound nasty but i was just curious as to why you are so set on a PSP. As for it being the better handheld for you... you will learn, don't worry ;)

Well anyway, good luck with the purchase. I am sure you will have many hours (well a few at least) of enjoyment :)

Regarding your original question... i found Ridge Racer was good for killing a bit of time.

You have asked peoples opinions on PSP games, people have tried to tell you they aren't very good (there are literally a couple out there that I could even class as 'good').

Jesus whats with all this anti PSP and DS fanboy crap, both handhelds are great systems with a good range of games on both. Why does everyone of these threads ALWAYS turn into a DS vs PSP arguement?

That was soooo page one. Just a select few people happen to think the PSP doesn't have very many good games compared to an alternative. That said it did get old pretty quick and I think we all got the point.

Lets not fuel the fire any more.

Ridge Racer, SSX, GTA:LCS, Mercury, GripShift have all kept me entertained. Oh, and Konami Arcade Classics but that was mainly for Joust. ;D

I am giving an honest opinion, I HAVE a PSP, I don't have a DS and I am saying go for the DS. I'm not being anti-PSP for the sake if it, I'm being anti-PSP because it's got a very poor range of titles.

But as already brought up in this thread the OP was asking for PSP game recommendations, not handheld console recommendations.

And as I made perfectly clear, bar Everybody's Golf and Daxter I honestly couldn't recommend anymore.

Then maybe you should have just recommended those two games and left it at that? Just a thought, after all the OP has already decided which console he wants.

How about we just let it go now.

The games i have for my PSP are:

GTA = Wicked game.
World Tour Soccer = Cheap, not a bad game.
Championship Manager (new one) = Too addictive.
Need for Speed = Not bad.

Buy a huge memory stick, for Mega Drive games ect... :p

Its really good, once you do some research.
_ _ _ _

But i will get a DS lite very soon, as Settlers comes out soon :p :p :p :p

When I had a PSP the titles I played the most were Tiger Woods, GTA and Lumines.

Lumines in particular is a cracking title.

I have tried both the PSP and DS and got a PSP. I never got a PS2 so all these games are new to me.

The DS is rubbish. The graphics are abismal compared to the PSP and the games are babyish and too old school for me. And i'm not spending another couple of hundred of pounds for a movie player when i can do this on a PSP.

I don't read anywhere that the DS can play movies or even surf the internet!

Graphics don't make a game though.
Final Fantasy 7 has poor graphics, but the game itself is still amazing.
The graphics on the DS arn't that bad either.
Not as good as the PSP's no, but the DS is designed to be a games console...nothing more, and the games on the DS are far better than the PSP's.
And yeah, the DS can play movies, music etc.
But hey anyway not to stroll off topic :p

Titles for PSP...
I heard Monster Hunter : Freedom isn't supposed to be bad at all, in a shop near me some guys sit there and play it together for hours xD
If you like fighting games you could always try Dragonball Z : Shin Budokai
I heard Daxter is supposed to be good and I wouldn't mind playing that myself!
Obviously everyone is saying GTA, so that might be one for you to think about.

Im with you on that one.. games seem to be geared for younger people...
the psp has much more games with violance in eg: GTA to me = older market this is one or the reasons i went psp.

You wouldnt find TOCA on a DS because its a racing sim thats hard to play and requires a little mechanical know how....

So far loving lumines + GTA.... toca is very good sim for the PSP i was shocked at how close it was to the xbox gameplay... A+ to PSP
