getting security cleared, what does it involve?

SC clearance gives you a nice set of highly paid contracts, DV contracts are a gold mine to be tapped in to. One of my friends had to fill out a detailed form, others interviewed in person (the interviewer makes the effort to go out to them which is always nice), and thats just as character references :/

SC on the other hand is a fairly simple task, and unless you balls something up in the forms its a fairly smooth process and the DVA get through them at a fast pace. Bad times to fill it out though, when uni year ends as students are getting jobs then, and at the start of a new year after xmas as lots of new people are getting SC and others renewing dv etc.

Not SC, no, but BC covers working on our company's systems and CTC covers most of the department's systems. They just need to be escorted by someone who is SC for the rest :)

Ahhhh, I see...

Cheers :)

im waiting to get DV clearance so i can start my summer job. it doesnt look like its going to happen as i start uni again in about 3/4 weeks! I was originally told i would get it early aug, but i guess they are being more carefull atm. Must be costing them a fortune, especially if i dont actually get to work for them!

Hey, why should you be worried?

The Vetting Unit clearned people like, Blunt, Burgess, Filby and Maclean :)

If you went to uni at Cambridge your're on their short list already!

Just dont expect it to come soon.

There are people in my company been waiting around 4 months to get cleared. Mind you They have been trying to get arount 200 SC cleared for an IT contract they have.

Hmm I see your location is Inverness. You don't happen to work in first line support do you?
