right then guys thanks a bunch for all yer help today has improved my synch no end, no all I need is for BT to change my IP profile from 1500kps

anyway I think I have decided on the router to get which is going to be the Netgear DG834, as well as buying one of those faceplates to separate phone from ADSL at the master socket.

If the connection remains stable, the IP profile should increase within 3 days.

My connection was exactlly the same, with faceplate of in the test socket and faceplate on.

Just wante to say thanks again guys, looks like BT have upped my profile somewhat

IP profile for your line is - 6000 kbps
DSL connection rate: 832 kbps(UP-STREAM) 7392 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 5543 kbps
