I haven't used my camera for about 6 months (I have a Canon 350D, with tripod and a Sigma 70-300mm lens) - I cannot take a picture of this eclipse for the life of me!

I set it to manual settings, played around with the shutter speed, aperture, etc and used the recommended settings posted above - it just comes out black! I can't use shutter speeds 1/200 like others have above.

I did manage to get a few pics earlier when the camera was set to aperture mode but the shutter speed was 30 secs and the image was very blurry, even though it was on a tripod and was on a timer - eventually the timer didn't work and it said "BULB" on the screen and stopped working  .

Not having a good day! :(

And what were your other settings?
Many various ones.

Ranged from:

ISO 400
1/2000 Exposure
f5.6

to

ISO 800
3 Sec Exposure
f5.6

Depended on how far away it was, and darkness.

To the above pics, amazing shots there. Wish i had the extra 100-200mm :( stuck with a 55-200mm. The border you use is nice too :)
