Ghostbusters: Afterlife

I think it will take the form of Winston being a mentor and advisor running the show with possible help from Ray and the team being the kids from Afterlife as theyll be 4-5 years older by the time the filming starts and Jason Reitman specificallystated its the next chapter in the Spengler story.

I don't see Peter being part of it.

Aykroyd and Hudson will be in it for sure, Murray is a question mark as always. Wouldnt mind seeing Janine, Louis and Dana, Janine had a longer part in afterlife which going by some behind the scenes stuff seemed to be centered around the final battle but it was cut.

I noticed that from the BTS stuff. Janine seemed to visit everyone to get them back to help and she was even on the porch during the final battle. Strange thing to cut as it made it weird them just appearing out of nowhere. I think the scene in Winstons office was also part of that plot as the deleted scene showed her picking up that coin from off the fireplace.

The final cut is pretty messy and leaves some questions for sure, wouldn't mind another edit restoring the cuts.

Well probably see them for the 20th anniversary lmao.

I did splurge on the big bosses with all three films and there was some extras for the OG films that had not been seen before including the version originally used in test screenings for the 84 film. Some alternate takes and cut scene were interesting.

I have that box set, yet to open it. No bluray drive.

Wonder if Murray will be led at gunpoint into this, he was even moaning in afterlife about the weight of the packs despite the fact theyre a ton lighter than the originals. I get the fact hes older and all but it's been a constant moan of his since the origiinal movie, hudson and aykroyd never seem to mention it.

Movie only started filming several days back and still slated for December 23rd this year, very optimistic. More like first quarter of 24 imo.

Nah its entirely possible to still make that date. Most of the post production is practical effects anyway so not a lot of cgi work required. The original movie was completed in about 8 months beginning to end. Same with Afterlife. Although it's release got delayed due to covid. But it was finished and ready to go.

Oh I know the story of the original, they only got the money on the condition they met that deadline as there was a slot for a movie that needed to be filled. I'd just be very surprised if they meet this deadline. For practical effects that would be more the pre-production type of thing to have them built, tested and ready for the movie, the cg obviously comes in during post, but even at that we don't know how much practical fx will be in this as we've not seen anything of it yet. Afterlife had some practical fx but a decent amount of cg as well, they seem to try and use practical when possible and if it makes sense in terms of money.

They did a lot of practical on Afterlife even doing a lot of the effects in the same way as the 84 film. Rotoscoping and such rather than cg.

I'm confident they'll meet the release date unless something goes wrong and delays filming. They've been in preproduction since middle of last year so will have e a lot of things sorted.
