Ghostbusters Reboot

Just watched it. And...

On a more serious note, can't see how having Leslie Jones play a Black woman helps Hollywood in any way overcome the recent diversity row

I watched the trailer, thought it was crap, looks like an attempt to make a film for women.

My GF watched the trailer, thought it was crap, said she doesn't know what it's trying to be.

So... Yeah. Not high on our list of thing to see.

Trying to look at it calmly, I didn't find the trailer funny, which is a huge shame.

Looks like a dud, but loved the remixed theme tune, that totally works.

I know this will sound sexist, but I don't find many female comedians very funny, and 4 men vying for the spotlight with today's egos would have been awful. A mixed sex cast could have been quite balanced....

What I still don't get is why they decided to make a Paul Feig film in Ghostbuster's clothes, instead of just a Ghostbusters film.

Read a thing today.

When Paul Feig was given the chance to do Ghostbusters he initially had no idea how to do it and didn't relate to it in any way. He then had the bright idea that since he was comfortable with writing female driven comedies, he'd just do that and fit Ghostbusters around it.

This, ladies and gents, is why modern reboots are often so terrible. If you want to remake a film and have it be good, at least pick someone who loved the original, related to it, and has an idea about how to have a slightly different spin on it whilst staying true to what made the original good in the first place.

It's like bringing Michael Bay in to write and direct a Jane Austen adaptation. I don't think a lot of people care about what gender the Ghostbusters are, but they want a Ghostbusters movie, not Bridesmaids with proton packs.

The budget for this movie is $154 million. I'll honestly be surprised if it manages to break $200-$250 million. That's even with feminists bra burning outside of cinema's.

I can't wait for wait for the internet ****storm from deluded femerrhoids, Tumblrinas and other assorted SJW divs blaming the patriarchy for this abortion flopping.

I have no special love for Ghostbusters, but for some reason I'd been waiting expectantly for the trailer. I must say, it didn't disappoint in its utter lack of lols and the internet **** storm of hate and triggering it inevitably spawned. :D

I'm really not sure what they were hoping to achieve? I just kinda looks like another ill judged nostalgia-fest (which completely misses the point,) with some terrible modern yank "comedy" mixed in.

What a mess!
