So I found this Acorn in my school grounds when I was at primary school.

I remember thinking you don’t see these all the time and I brought it home.

I’ve had it ever since (I'm now 40) but it still appears to be alive :D

During winter it will close up and then come this time of year, it does this.

I lifted it just now to sprinkle some water on it and a seed fell out! Surely it cannot be still alive?

Quite pleased I have kept it all these years being honest.

Edit to include coin for scale :)

Christ lol I thought it was an Acorn so whoops.

Didn’t take me long to find that out sure :D from primary school I had myself convinced this was an Acorn. Stick to computers Phil :D

LOL That was a thing I had kept from my childhood thinking it was an Acorn. It’s clearly not but I have it all these years only to find it’s not a bloody Acorn :D I would never make it at the gardening game etc it would seem lol

I didn’t have much interest in stuff like this being honest.

I was more interested in computing and science but found that big ‘pine cone’ one day at primary school.

I have been well enough educated in computers and finance, but not Acorns and Pine cones it would seem :D

But now I know sure. Everyday is a schoolday as they say :)

Engage your thickest skin for the onslaught fella. Good sport tho

Does your wife not think you're daft each time you move, you carefully packing this away?

Brilliant story only made better by the fact you called it an Acorn tbh.

The Pine cone never leaves me it seems. It just sticks about and reminds me of my youth and inability to identify things that fall from trees :D that’s a lot of years thinking this was a Acorn lads. I am distraught!

That's not an Acorn! This is an Acorn!
