Gibbo ETA for 3900x?

Well they've done better than Intel did with the 8700K launch, and the 9900K launch, it took months to get to the point of easy to find stock, rather than just over 4-weeks.

I'm sad i didn't hold on for the 3900X but at the same time I'm glad I went and did get the 3700X for now as I've had so many issues with this build i.e. wrong parts being sent, things not fitting right according to configurator and getting a head of myself in other places.

I will hold out now for the 4900X as I'm not going through the RMA process again and have to pay for the shipping both ways. Glad every one who waited is getting them through though.

Yes, that is overboard, but it does look good I have to admit.

Jesus, that is basically THE X570 motherboard. It does look great though.

Hard to get a decent photo once it was installed

Hi there

We are expecting roughly another 50pc tomorrow which will nearly clear all backorders. :)
Thanks for the update. Is there anyway to find out if I am in that next 50 or do I just have to wait till tomorrow to see if I made the cut.
Also are you expecting more stock to arrive before september ?

cant believe everyone everywhere is ripping people off for these CPUs, taking advantage of the short supply, i'll buy direct from AMD or wait for the price to drop back down to normal.

It would be interesting to see what clock speeds people are getting with the new processors, have they been taken from a higher bin to meet demand?

Unfortunately I cant tell at the moment. It looks like my motherboard is faulty (Gigabyte Aorus X570 Ultra). The DRAM fault light stays on and it wont POST. Ram has been tested and is Ok in another machine. The Ram from that machine has also been tested in this one with the same error.

I see from thread in the Motherboard forum that another user had the same error but was able to overcome it with a Q-Flash of the BIOS. That didnt work for me though so have sent CS an RMA request.

I was in two minds about going for another Gigabyte MB. I've had a couple fail on me over the years. I wish I went with my gut feel....

did you ever get into the bios and set xmp? theres a bug on some giga bios, where if you set xmp it will set you ddr voltages to 1.2 hence can fail to post, with high speed memory, try resetting the cmos by taking the battery out and testing; also if you have 2 stick use the A2 and B2 slots (miss the one closest to cpu, use the next one, miss one, use the next one). apparently it can solve some memory booting issues with this topology according to gigabyte on there forums. :)

Thanks for the tips. Its never POST'd so never even got as far as seeing the Bios screens unfortunately so I havent even had chance to break anything with settings. I have reset the CMOS as well as doing the Q-Flash, and slots A-2 and B-2 are what the manual state should be used for a two stick setup so thats where I had them anyway. Also tried 1 stick and other slots on the off chance, but no change.

you may have already tried with a single stick i presume so - but if not try it by rotating all slots and testing, do you have any other memory you can temporarily try to at least check it inst the board at fault. in regards to the cmos battery, try unplugging the psu and pulling the battery and pressing the power button, to fully discharge, wait 2-5 minutes and try again. again you may have tried this, just checking as ive noticed if you dont leave the battery out for long enough without trying, it doesnt actually clear.

Yeah, 1 stick tried, and also tested Ram from another system. The new stuff works in the old system fine, but the old Ram also doesnt work in the new system.

Tried pulling the CMOS battery for 5 mins as suggested. When I plugged it all back in, the MB refused to even power on for more than 1 second at a time. Fans spin up, lights come on, immediately shuts down.

I re-flashed the BIOS using the Q-Flash again and its back to how it was originally. Lights come on, fans spin up. DRAM fault light on. From the gigabyte forums seems quite a few people have had this. Some managed to fix it with a q-flash, some had to RMA.

yea looks like your going to have to rma by sounds of it which sucks, can you try 1 last thing, just to rule it out. do you have any internal usb headers populated, if so can you unplug them and try booting again? it likely wont change anything but it almost sounds like a protection trigger is happening when the fans spin and lights come finally shutting down. might also be worth unplugging everything else other than cpu board memory and psu if you have anything else. again likely wont help but worth a shot.

edit: how long did you leave it with the memory light lit up? did you notice it cycles through the error lights over and over again or just stays solid on memory.

CS have just issued an RMA for it so its going back today. They suspect the memory controller. I had also as you suggested tried without anything else plugged in and no change.

As to the lights, DRAM was solid for about 30 seconds and flips to cpu for < 0.25 second. This then repeats about on about a 1 minute interval (not exactly 1 minute). Heres hoping board No.2 works better!

fyi i did get the same behavior on first boot whilst the memory training happened, but eventually it allowed me to proceed after what felt like forever but was likely a few minutes, hopefully the next board will work fine for you. :)
