Gibbo you need to get a massive load of these in..

I can't understand how people work out these are expensive compared to using a custom bracket...

1. DWood isn't taking orders any more
2. The Sigma_Cool only works with either AMD or Nvidia and requires you to order a bracket for each brand which doubles up the cost.

This Arctic Cooling unit has everything you need except a £1 copper shim, mounts much easier and looks a lot more professional.

With the cost of buying and shipping the bracket to you it actually costs you more to use the custom bracket method then just buying this Arctic system...

My DWood bracket cost me £13 and took 5 WEEKS to get to me and 2x Signa_Cool brackets will cost you £20-25 shipped

I think most may be missing the point with VRM and the modded cooler. If you have a stock cooler (or do what I did and pick one up off the MM) you use this for VRM cooling. In the instructions I read for the green camp it was one option.

Here was mine for a 580 using a OCUK cooler with double thick radiator.

GTX 580 cooled by OcUK H²Flo Extreme Liquid Dual Fan CPU Cooler - Mod

I did it because at the time the Arctic one was £195 and said to be not that good and this cost me £43.99 plus the stock cooler was a tenner I think.

The Arctic cooler will likely perform better then your way as it has a better mounting system and get a much more efficient mount onto the GPU core.

Not to mention it looks nicer, it was an expensive item back when it released but at the price OCUK have got them in for they're actually a cheaper option then buying an all in one CPU cooler and using a bracket.

I also don't understand how people can say it's 'No Good' when it uses the same pump and radiator as the Antec 620 does and people don't complain about the cooling performance of that??

I didnt use a bracket and I was well chuffed with the temps other thing you have to remember with these is the location of the radiator.
Its not as straight forward as using a CPU AIO.

Although if I was buying one now I may have gone for the Arctic as I quite like their products and the price is good from OCUK

It worked fine for about 6 month till my little terror turned off the fan to the radiator and the 580 overheated and went pop :)

I used the cable tie method on my 7950 until my bracket arrived and the bracket lowered temps by 5-6c because it could put much better and a more spread of pressure on the core.

They're a steak at £75 and work out cheaper then buying a CPU based all in one and using a mod

Mine should be here tomorrow but I don't have a 290X but they'll be tested on over-volted 7950's.

I'll do a mini-review tomorrow so you guys can see how they handle the heat load...

They are rated at 320w though

^ lol

7900 series are available from a certain auction site..... Just search for copper shim and you get loads of places in the UK that can supply them to you.

It cost me £2.96 delivered for 2 copper shims
