just a warning i have corsair xms2 6400 and 3 of my 4 sticks dont work i can only run 1gb stable, it was working last night on two but today it only wants to use one?!? go figure?!?

Yeah but you're using 4x256MB? I'll be using 2x1GB.

Has anyone successfully booted a DS4 with Gskill NR RAM?

EDIT. Scrap that. Ive got mine booting :). Overvolted by .3v and set the timings manuallly to 5-5-5-15 its currently running happily at 533Mhz and seems stable. only 1 stick so far though. will try a second in a bit. WIll keep you updated as I go. Hope this helps!
EDIT 2 : Despite managing to boot it, it will now hardly POST. I shall have a go at it in the morning and see how far I can get but it definitley seems very unstable.

i was so hoping to get the ds3 with the nr ram but now no offer damm it...

can anyone who has the ds3/4 and geil value 6400 please post if its work or not.. I don;t really want to go down the p5w dh route as I don;t wanna get another processor.

and its cheaper still to go ds3 with geil 6400
than p5wdh against the gskill nr

all of this is with a 6600

Gskill ZX 6400 2X1GB - No boot, Geil 667 Value RAM used to set voltage +.4 and CAS latency to 4. boots on its own but NOT stable at all. When piggybacked with the Geil 667 it runs fine at the Geils settings alongside it, DDR752 at 4 6 6 18 at only +.1 needed, so 3GB in all at that timing and only 1.9v, not too bad but i really wish it'd run by itself as i'm sure it'd do a bit past DDR800 :D
Tried Geil Value 6400 and it booted and ran fine.. so bad on G.Skill

Well got my G.Skill 2GB DDR2 HZ PC2-6400 today.

By looking at the pins, Looks like they have been tested in the factory :D , or RMA'd because they didnt work on a DS4 LOL :(

Batch number 0606

Putting them in at lunch time....

Ok I have finally managed to boot my Gskill NR RAM and have found the problem.
It is the CAS 3 bug that has been reported on XS. The motherboard is forcing the RAM to run at CAS 3 and therefore the RAM will only boot if i underclock my FSB to 200 (so DDR2-400) and overvolt the RAM by +.3v.

I now have 1 stick of RAM running stable with the F3B BIOS, and have contacted Gigabyte and Gskill to see whos fault it is and whether either of them can fix it.

Hi guys, just got my ds3, I've just tested 2 x 1 gig geil 5300 (667 I think) and they work. I've tried them @ 440 fsb, and it also booted.
I'm installing windows now, with them set @ 400 fsb, will report back later if windows etc, is stable
