Gigabyte B650 Gaming X (AX) Owners

New bios is out, still a 32 tho. But i guess this one proves it can do 9000 series as it says it explicitly in the notes and is for this board.

  2. Update AMD AGESA 1.2.0.2a for Ryzen 9000 X3D CPU performance optimized
  3. Add X3D Turbo Mode support
  4. Now system will ask if user wants to enable X3D Turbo Mode or not at the first boot of X3D CPU is installed

It appears they updated the release notes and removed all the text relating to 9000 series...

They gave me the same answer, BUT several ppl run ryzen 7 9800x3d or ryzen 7 9700x on unsupported b650 gaming x and ax rev 1.0-1.4 motherboards. How is that possible? I'm very curious.
Can owners of these motherboards request a replacement after the manufacturer lied that their motherboards would support the new processors?

There could be stability issues we aren't aware of, why I want someone with our motherboard revisions using the new 9000 X3D series cpu to run extensive stability tests and gaming tests.

I doubt they would even admit there's a problem, let alone send us a replacement. You can ask them and let us know of their response.

Wouldnt worry about the edited bios update notes, even the mbs that support 9000 series have that bit removed too, maybe they just cleaned it up to be less about the 9000 series and more of a all x3d cpus for that bit that that it mentions or something. Still supports 9000 cpus, gb on a page i once saw said all 650 boards starting with a bios revision supported 9000 cpus so i wouldnt worry.

I have been running this with a 9800x3d and it's been fine apart from it often takes multiple reboots to post (corsair 32gb cl36 ram). I have just bought some new ram and I really hope that fixes the issue..
I've also upgraded the bios several times over the last month or so, doesn't seem to have helped much.

Which BIOS are you running?

I've updated the bios several times over the last month, I think they're beta ones. F32g currently.
Don't hold your breathe, there hasn't been a stable bios release since November 08/23 with version FC. Every bios since this release has been all beta bioses, they have been hit or miss with me, if I'm lucky there's no issues. Has the new ram solved your post issues? Have you tried running long hours of stress testing with Prime95, OCCT, etc? I'm curious if it can pass them successfully.

It works fine. I installed the 9800X3D in a 1.3version. BEFORE, I installed the latest BIOS (Dec 2024). The restart runs smooth. With more than three weeks, there are no strange things to report, no blue screens etc.

Thanks for letting us know. Definitely an upgrade I plan once the funds allow.
