I thought I would share my full review of this fantastic GPU.

Anyone have any questions or want me to run a particular game, I will do my best to answer and test the game (so long as I have it).

Thanks to OcUK (Cheers Bailey), I also have a copy of Doom to giveaway. To be in with a chance to win, Tell me what I could do to improve my reviews (I know there is loads) and I will enter you in a random generator, which will be drawn on Saturday at 8pm :)

Could you post in the tomb raider bench thread? I wouldn't mind seeing some 1440p stats, particularly ultra wide although I accept that may be a bit "niche" and would settle for 2560*1440.

Cheers.

I have DOOM already but I'll take a look when I get home and give you a shout; you'll end up with my youtube page.......:)

I haven't really been on here since we last spoke but have been checking out your vids. Will be sure to do this later tonight for this :)

Regards,

Adam

I can't do ultrawide but can do 1440P. I assume you mean ROTTR?

I thought you had a 4k screen? If so surely you can set the res to ultrawide and it would just have black bars at the top and bottom of your screen>

Sadly not. I have the Asus ROG Swift. A long time ago I had the first Samsung 4K monitor but hated 60Hz :(

I have the 1st TR (2013) installed if you'd like me to run it?

Nice review G-Man ;)

edit - I do like your emphasis on 'real-world' gaming instead of just trotting out numbers Greg

What I would include:

Time stamps in the description to various parts of the video
An average, min and max graph for the game, pretty easy to do with Fraps and Google Sheets/Excel
Starting with this gen, an image of the core clock over a lenghty gaming session, useful information to know
If you have time, use DSR and see how it performs at 4k ect

Great points and thanks for that  Deffo will look into that for future, especially the Excel sheets (I used to add them but not sure why I didn't this time). I like the DSR bit as well and well worth a look.

Hi Greg

Well for starts

A nice shirt and tie would not go a miss maybe a nice plant or two in the background devils ivy (golden phathos the true name) spider plant maybe both good for getting rid of pc nasties that go in the air cleans the air too....

and some interview make up but with very minimum use.. do not over do it (you will scare me and others and we do not want that)...this will just give you a nice glow and a professional look :)

Seriously.....

End stat graphs would be good
What drivers in use at the time
Test system info
Amb temps along More temp data

And a good breakdown of what you think about the cards techs uk prices ect that's all ways interesting ...

Either way i am good with owt the reviews you do now are great as they are like mini ghetto tech kind of style reviews old school...

:)

Hi, couple of little things

- Have you ever thought of having background music or some kind of introduction/titles?

- I'm not sure if its me but there's a fair bit of white noise at the start (listening on headphones) Gets better when I assume you move to the mic in the background?

- Also I feel the intro is a little long just to be sat watching just you (sorry! :) ), perhaps I'd break the video up with shots of the cards, long sweeping shots showing off the card things like that.

- The amount of icons on your desktop frustrates me :p

Hope that's constructive!

Nice review. I can't fault it too much, it provides something different to the other big reviewers who churn out numbers so fast it goes through one ear and out the next :D

Would be good to see a few more games, perhaps 3, maybe 4.. Just to give a more generalised overview of how the card performs in different games.

The final point is a bit opinionated, but we live in a world of impatience so maybe keep the intro chatter to max. 1 minute, use the rest of the time to give a nice view of the aesthetics and hardware based stats that are specific to the G1.. Connectors, number of power phases blah blah blah!

I think you do an overall good job and can't really add much to what's above. What you could do for your overall presentation is make up a screen saver with Gregster Reviews on it or something along the lines. It's a small add but every little helps.

Edit: i see above simon.deighton was drawn to your desktop as i was. The icons didn't bother me though as mine are worse.

It's a little extra advertisement opportunity if a lot of people look there.

Some seriously good points and I am running out of room on my whiteboard :D I appreciate all the feedback as well cheers guys and more than happy for criticism :)

yes i think you did a good job . you could improve by get an introduction like a name/logo of your channel at start of the video. :)

Tell me what I could do to improve my reviews (I know there is loads)

Pets. People love to see pets in vids. If you have a dog or a cat let them steal the show a few seconds now and then. I wish this was purely a joke but in reality it doesn't hurt (youtube hits for pet vids tell the whole story), and it makes people feel more familiar with you etc. :D (er, as long as the pet is in good condition).

Music. Just a bit of, not a fan of having background music the whole time. But you could have a bit of music playing if you display fps scores etc on the screen, and you aren't talking.

Interesting observations. Make notes of anything that strikes you as very interesting, or odd, unexpected, etc, and make sure to include mention of it when you make a vid later. It breaks the monotony of "all is as expected, great card", and creates subjects for conversations among your viewers.

Other than that, keep at it. You have a very calm speaking style, which is refreshing (over-the-top enthusiasm gets old/fake fast). Keep striving to keep it real (be yourself) and it'll go even better. You know this already, and are doing it, just wanted to encourage you.

I don't need to be entered for the Doom giveaway, already have a copy. I do have a friend who'd like it though but no biggie if you're not allowed to pass it on to someone else.
