Girl vs. Football (Specific dilemma, help me out!)

Tell her you are watching the football.

Am i missing something?

Can it possibly be anymore complicated than that?

My missus moans when i tell her i am watching football, last weekend match that featured Man U, she got told, "my brother is coming over as well, so either make some extra dinner or **** off out and we will get a burger king because one thing i cant be doing with is your awfull cooking AND your constant whinging about the football"

I've never had a problem with boyfriends watching the footy with other guys. I've always been under the impression that boys need to spend time with thier boys, but if girls are allowed then I (especially as the girlfriend) should be allowed too. :)

Since not only is it just boys and just football, she'll be at work (so couldn't make it anyway) and he'll meet her straight after I really don't see what the problem is.

Of course if she is still unhappy about this, why not take her out somewhere special and romantic on friday night (since it was meant to only be saturday and sunday this would be considered "extra") to make up for the time your missing together during the match?

Listen to a wise old man.
I'll presume you are 'youngish' and if you have found a woman who is already acting like this then you're going to be under the thumb forever.
You must put your foot down now and make her realise that football is very important to you and if she isn't willing to accept it then dump her.
My 19 year old daughter has the same attitude and can't see why her mother lets me watch every football match thats on including the ones on my motorised satellite system.
She's found a boyfriend who doesn't like football and I seriously question his masculinity.
My 17 year old is now educated and knows that when football is on, the TV is mine.
My own sister dictates when my football mad brother in law watches football.
I don't know what else to say but this could have serious consequences for the future unless you make a stand now and educate her.

This thread makes me sad, I didn't realise quite so many men were under the thumb in relationships. We need to set up some sort of crisis centre for them so we can try to help them restore their lost manliness and regain control of their lives.

Exactly. Couldn't agree more :)

It's simple. Do what you want !!!

If us men do anthing other than see a girl when she is doing nothing, then they will question your loyalty and moan 'you would rather do that than be with me'. I had enough of my bird saying that and also moad 'o o your just stringing me along and fitting me around your football and work'.

Firstly, i go down the pub most saturdays, and normally tuesdays to watch the footie. Plus when there is champions league on, a few of us go and watch it. I told her this, and she still expected me to be at her becon and call.

She is a 3rd year medic and is doing clinicals in a hospital from 9am-6pm. She expecting me to see her every evning, and spend every night over at hers. What i finally realised is that a girl is not worth losing your friends over, plus us men need our 'own' time where we can just sit down and do nothing. Even if we are bored, i found that i just need alone time.

rant over :p

One more thing. THE WORLD CUP.

I think there will be a lot of women dumping men, then wondering around the streets aimlessly as all men will be in pubs or infront of their tv, with a 4-pack and the remote :p

Thats one of the best things about World Cups. Lots of newly disengaged women on the nights out when you've done watching the footy, and a few floating round looking for a fella once the WC is over :p

You just gotta be quick. All the best ones go fast.

Hey i got their first, they are all mine ;)

Plus it's the final week of the uni year, and a lot of people are leaving this year (3rd year graduates), so there might few a few fine fillies up for a final bit of fun :D :D :D

I disagree. If one of your mates is stupid enough to bring his GF, or other women show up uninvited it doesn't mean you should be punished by having to invite your GF out of obligation.

Meh. Its OK taking them to one or two games a season, but Leeds fans shouldn't be at footy matches.

Fixed ;)

I've been going the the football since I was a toddler. I've as much right to be there as any bloke there (damn sight more passionate than some of them too) and i'm not having anyone telling me otherwise.

Rubbish. Leeds fans are some of the best and most passionate around :)

Nah, leeds fans are a bunch of thugs, if you want good old fashioned none religious football rivialary, look no further than newcastle and sunderland. No other derby is close imo.
