I am less certain about some of his other points, particularly his points about Iraq. He comments that "Violent jihadism was occurring long before Britain and America toppled Saddam Hussein" but fails to give any examples - perhaps (leaving aside the Crusades) because some of it stemmed from the Americans support of the Shah of Iran, then there was Afghanistan where the Americans supported Islamic fundamentalists who were trying to drive out the Russian invaders and then developed further as a result of American support of the corrupt regime in Saudi Arabia. If he really believes that Iraq isn't an issue, I believe that he is greatly mistaken.WHERE are the marches and demonstrations, the passionate speeches and angry slogans? Where are the protesters shouting “not in my name”?

No, I don't know where you could reasonably have got that idea fromcleanbluesky said:So are you're assuming that their only use is in prevention?
You may know about these "many terror attacks they have so far prevented", I don't have access to the same sources as you appear to have.cleanbluesky said:If the security services are dragging their feet (something that's hard to accuse them of considering how many terror attacks they have so far prevented)
It is certainly a call for greater efficiency - and I hadn't actually commented on "shorter detention time".cleanbluesky said:. . . then this isn't a call for shorter detention time, it is a call for greater efficiency.

However, I do agree entirely that representatives of Muslims in the UK are far too slow forcefully to speak out against terrorist attacks here.
Those hapless al-Qaeda boys were to find out that Glasgow has no respect for international terrorism. Nobody gets between 10,000 Weegies and a £99 week in Ibiza booked on Thursday night through Barrhead Travel
Mohammed apparently made the mountains come to him, Jon Smeaton diddy ****** the mountains!!!
Here’s to his heroism, his straightforward belief in right and wrong, his support for Law and Order, and his willingness to give a good kicking to someone richly deserving it.
John Smeaton ordered a big mac at Burger king….and got one!!!
Giraffes were created when John Smeaton hit a horse with an uppercut
Police in Scotland have today arrested two more men over the attempted car bombing of Glasgow airport at the weekend. The two men, aged 28 and 25, were detained in Paisley, near the airport, Strathclyde police said. They are not believed to be of Scottish origin. Officers added that the arrests of the men had come as a result of "intensive police operations in the Paisley area last night". Guardian Link - BBC Link

Seriously, heavy fog closes any airport around the world. Even Scottish ones
