Glastonbury & the BBC.

Charli XCX is a bit ****, just her gyrating on stage whilst miming to her latest stuff sadly.

Edit: That’s a bit better.

Not much I wanted to watch so far, especially after Deftones pulled out

Caught Biffy Clyro, Floating Points, Four Tet on Friday and Weezer, Nova Twins, Caribou today.

Think it might be the worst lineup for me, one band I want to see on the main stage over 3 days is really surprising.

Caught up with a few, Lewis Capldi, John Fogerty (age has not been kind and his mic was not quite right), Brandi Carlile (only watched as it was on after CCWR, pretty good tbf), Pulp - Reading will always be their highlight but they were decent, good to see them back. Stone Roses :D Shed Seven - better than expected, there was another chap as well that i need to go back and find as they were really good but doesnt seem to be on catchup. Tomorrow i'll probably try and watch Future Islands and maybe Rod Steward, but thats about it, bit of a lackluster lineup overall outside of a few, kinda glad ive not spent the money going.

Someone posted on FB about a stage that was doing some songs from the likes of Come and Praise, shocking that id much rather relive the horror of singing Give Me Oil in My Lamp (tbf thats a belter :D) from primary school assembly than seeing some of the lineups.

Yeah, thought that. She seems to be miming to most of the songs as well.

Waste of time performing live if you aren’t going to sing!

Scissor sisters were great though.

Funnily enough I was watching Shed Seven when I posted. Never thought much of Disco Down or Going for Gold. Dolphin and Bully Boy would've been much better IMO.

Apparently one of their backing singers has covered for the lead in my sister's funk band.

I always watch a fair bit of Glasto. It's about as contemporary as I get. A sort of quick peak at what the "kids" are listening too. Quite enjoyed CMAT, Biffy Clyro, Shaboozey., Alanis, Amyl and the Sniffers. Rod is on now and he's not as bad as I thought he might be. I'm not really wowed by 80 year old rock stars who had their best moments over 50 years ago. I don't understand why they booked Neil Young as a headliner. I guess it shows the relative lack of big names that really want to do the event.

Bands like the Script do nothing for me but they seemed to have a decent set. The 1975 are a band that has passed me by. I find it a bit meh. The not so secret Pulp set was hardly worth trying to hide. They are a band that should never had a bigger venue than King Tuts Wah Wah Hut.

Some good acts but not a knockout Glastonbury lineup this year imho, Charli XCX was an absolute disgrace.

Prodigy on now and tbh probably going to be the best set.
