Glastonbury & the BBC.

Glastonbury has always been a pretty broad range of mainstream pop, rock, and electronic acts. Headliners are rarely my cup of tea but there's plenty of good stuff on the lineup.

If you're after more niche stuff, there's a bajillion festivals around now that'll cater to it.

Yeah never any reason to go anywhere near the Pyramid tbh.

I saw Napalm Death there one year lol.
I never understand why that seems like a big deal, compared to the stage efforts for Mainland EU festivals its really really crap looking.

Probably none but I wouldn't be surprised if some was played in some tent somewhere on site.

To be honest if you're into that rubbish you don't like music anyway.

You said every type of music was covered...
Then you said if i like x type of music i dont like music lol.

you sir, are conflicted.

Not really the same is it, when you said every type of music was covered i assumed you meant live performances.

Does it matter?

I doubt there's any slam core death there which I'd love. There will be some kind of metal though.

Might not be any Peruvian anal singing this year either. But there might be.

The place is massive with a huge variety of music/arts.

Yea it does matter, i'd only go to download for example if the line up on a certain year was to my taste ect. Each to their own.

music festivals are about more than just the music though. i've been to a few, one of which i didn't even recognise a single band name that was booked to appear  still had a blinding weekend (i think, memory is quite hazy, i'm blaming my age now and not the shenanigans that went on :p )

Glasto sucks and has done ever since they put the big mega fence up in 2001 or whenever it was and it became near impossible to jump the fence. In the space of one year it went from a festival with an extremely broad range of punters and interesting/mad characters to basically being exclusively for middle class families and students. I stopped going about 3 years later as the atmosphere was so weak compared to what it used to be like. Shame because id argue the lineups are always pretty decent provided you actually have a varied taste in music and have some interest in music outside of the mainstream.

Actually ill rephrase my original point. Glasto does not suck, it's still a lot better than a weekend at home but it just doesn't have the magic it used to have (or at least it didn't when I worked there in 2015/2016/2017). Tear down the fence and bring back the freaks and weirdos that gave it character. The weirdest chap you'll likely find nowadays is some 30-year-old trustafarian from Cheltenham called Giles. It's just not cricket.
