global gathering this year...

Going this year, same as the previous 4 years, although last year did spoil it a tad with the rain around 2am (think it was), but its still an awesome event

Given the lineup for the Godskitchen tent on the Saturday I think I'm just going to go for the day (£63 quid), with the sole purpose of going to that tent and staying in there for the duration!

Looking forward to a few acts in particular, Ferry Corsten, DJ Yoda, Faithless, Armin Van Buuren, Sasha and John Digweed in particular.

Anyone else deffinately going? And whats the restrictions on getting your own beer into the camping area as ive heard that it changes from year to year?

There's never been a DEFINITIVE answer to the alcohol on the campsite rule. The first year of camping they had a strict no alcohol on campsite rule, but they didnt stop people leaving the site later on and returning with it from the car.
Then last year, all the websites etc said NO ALCOHOL on the campsite, yet when we arrived you were allowed to bring as much as you wanted in.
This year im just going to take my own anyway because no matter what it says on the site it'll probably be wrong and you can just wease it in later on.

last year they seemed fine aslong you didnt have glass bottle , they preffered plaggy bottles but am sure loads of people had cans too , plastic bottles come in hadny as toilets tbh ,

toilets on site are an absolute disgrace , never seen anything as bad

im definetly going , gettin a ticket as soon as i get some money

yeh im going to take a big 3l bottle of something so that when ive drunk from it i can have a wee in it. Also mite be worth taking ** own bog roll and mooching off to some wooded area for a dump, it would be a damn site cleaner i tell u that.

Yay, i'm heading to global gathering this year, will be my first time can't wait. Also saw Tiesto earlier in the year at Alexandra Palace which was awesome

Also bit worried about not being able to take your own alcohol into the campsite :eek:

i bet buying it there will cost a small fortune. :mad:

dont worry , just take it in , if its in a plastic bottle they pretty much wont care.

people where taking much worse in than bottles of booze

the booze there is a rip off , its also in plastic bottles and WARM !!!

im not going anymore now

few decent nights here will make up for it but ill still feel like im missing out

Hardcore, gabba, DnB, etc are the exact reasons why I don't bother with UK festivals anymore, too many chavs and gangstas looking to start trouble.

went ibiza last year, was either a choice of global weekend or ibiza. Me and mate had more money last year so chose ibiza. I spent about £700 in a week plus 240ish for really nice hotel 1/2 board. Went to amnesia, privilege, pacha, eden, es-paradis. Got a moped, went go-karting and went to ibiza town a couple of times in the day.
Drank an aweful lot (litre of vodka between 2 of us) around the swimming pool whilst playing pool before going out. Went west end to 2 or 3 places n had a few cheapish drinks. Bought anything we needed then went to nightclub. Hardcore week and killed us when we got back but well worth it!
This year weve chose global, just the sat £63 plus the return train ticket (£18) and £40 to spend isnt bad really as it will be a class night

My friend told me last night that she is going through work and staying in a 'pod', with a proper toilet and shower and everything!

Am soooo extremely jealous it is unreal

esp as not making Ibiza this year (but not really that bothered) Global always has great lineups.

Hope it isn't tooo wet!

Bedrock tent lineup looks good, plus some of the Essential selection & Sputnik ones. One & one on the main stage could be good, but Zabiela is better alone imo.
Need Oliver Lieb playing in the UK imo

Seen him before and hes great. Im more gutted that mark eg isnt playing, id rather have mark eg than tidy boys. Not that tidy boys are bad, they are excellent at their job but it just seems they are bored sometimes and are there to do the job, collect the money and go home. Whereas people like mark eg and alex kidd genuinely look like they are having a good time, and it rubs off on everyone else and generates so much more atmosphere.

Mark eg at summersound system this year had everyone going bananas. Same goes for lots of other djs/mcs
