GOG , Good Old Games - Official Thread

Just thought I'd bump this thread to recommend that anyone with a shred of goodness in them purchase To The Moon.

It's a borderline masterpiece -- less a game, and more an interactive movie/story in a 16-bit format, but it's excellent through and through. The music is amazing, the story is engrossing, touching, and quite frankly beautiful.

Spent the last 45 minutes to an hour of the game with tears in my eyes, and finally broke down completely at the end. In front of the wife.

-100000000 Man Points, and a gaming experience I for one will remember forever. Get it.

I bought it on a whim a few days ago. It's in my pile of shame at the moment but it will get played at some point.

;)

With the 50% saving at the moment I'm considering that, but never really played point and click adventures. Is it a good entry to try, as don't fancy a frustrating game now a days.

To The Moon looks interesting too, until I saw the price. Didn't realise it was a 2011 game.

I really enjoyed Gemini Rue. The puzzles aren't too hard but there were one or two pixel hunts that tripped me up. I highly recommend it!

See, I'm not sure I want to play a game that does that to me. Dear Esther came close - affecting and vaguely disturbing depending on your interpretation of it, but not exactly an enjoyable experience.
