Who else is going bald before they hit the big 40? I'm 38.
How are you dealing with it?
I've tried just shaving it all off down to a number one but it looked too severe and I still looked bald, not just a guy with a crew cut if you know what I mean :(
At the moment I've just left it to grow and it's a bit of a state but I don't know what to do grrr.

Whilst I'm not going bald, I have grown a beard over the last few years. Then a few months ago decided to shave all my hair off just for a laugh.
It looked great, until I then shaved my beard off. NOT a good look.

so, perhaps growing a beard might be a good idea?

43 got a thick head of dark hair, but beard is as grey as hell, in used to grow beard each be winter went grey in 12 months !

I'm 34 and have a receding hairline at the temples, nothing too severe but I can see the hair thinning. Hope it stops in its tracks but who knows. I certainly won't be taking any drugs for it, the potential side-effects far outweigh the alternative.

I've had a horseshoe head practically since I was 23.

I shave it all off 0.5. It still doesn't look the best but saves me from looking like a nutty professor.

At 27 I’m developing a Jude Law hairline with a few greys around the side. My dad and my mum’s Dad were both bald from their early 20s. I’ve accepted that I’m destined for the same fate!

Embrace it, you’ll soon stop caring! :).

Don’t think I’ll ever go bald (Father in his 50’s with a straight hairline still) but if I were to I’d just shave the lot off, looks horrid when you see younger dudes with a heavily receding hairline and they’re trying to cope with it by still styling it in some weird way.

In 30s and it had been thinning on the top for a few years so took the plunge a few months ago and went number 2 back and sides, trimmed really short on top. Looks ok now and is easier to manage. Going to save buying hair product too. :D

As I lose it further I'll probably just cut it shorter. It is one of the reasons I grew a beard, to make up for the hair on top. xD

I tried Regaine for 4 months, I saw an improvement because I wanted to see it then I just gave up on rubbing mouse into my scalp, the neighbour enjoyed taking the pee out of me for it....git.

Started losing my hair in my mid 20s. By the time I was 30 I had a huge bald spot on the top so I just embraced it and went with a 0 buzz-cut. Never looked back and I still sport the same 0 cut at 42.
It helps I guess that I have a goatee beard so I don’t look 12.

Are you Mr Scruff?

I started to lose hair a bit at the front at around 20. Since then (now 30) I have lost a bit in the middle. I found mine seemed to be associated with itching and flakes. I think it is psoriasis based or a mixture of ageing related as well. I use T-Gel shampoo which has really helped prevent further loss. Another good one which has some evidence of helping certain forms of hair loss is Nizoral shampoo. It contains an antifungal I believe. You can look up the studies on it, and you will see there is some evidence of it helping. I tend to use that whenever things start getting worse again.

I do know from my own experience, that using regular shampoos like head and shoulders make my hair worse, even the antindandruff ones. I have tried caffeine based shampoos and I think they just make the hair follicles frizzier in my experience, and don't really prevent hair loss or stimulate more growth. If you want to enjoy a really effective shampoo thickener that definitely does make your hair feel thicker and look visibly thicker without resorting to artificial fibres or other messy products, I recommend Nutrasome Thickening Shampoo.

In my case, I really haven't wanted to explore the serums or pills, purely because I have read some controversial things about them doing damage to libido and hormone levels. Also, I haven't read anything that suggests they are a huge advantage other some of the other things I'm already using and seeing some benefits in, so there is no reason for me to feel the need to.

I have had thinning 'Picard' hair all my life, it really became obvious in my early thirties but I have always cut my hair short, if not a No.1 cut or no guard. Now I also get very grey at the sides and in my beard (especially around my chin), so if I don't shave my head constantly it makes me look so old. Only last year another parent at my daughter's school said she thought I was much younger than my forty plus years (few wrinkles :p).

Annoyingly, earlier this year I developed chronic Folliculitis on my head, which doesn't react well to constant shaving. The Consultant Dermatologist told me the condition could result in bald patches and looked at me in horror when I said I wished it would just get rid of everything in one go permanently :D.
