Going for brain surgery

Apparently I'm double hard as most at this time are just laying there. I have a huge wound in my head , 3 needles in me and drinking a cuppa tea watching films. While in intensive care lol. I have a tube up me belled too lol.

Awesome Skywalker! Fingers crossed that your recovery is as trouble-free as it can possibly be. What are the 3 feeds you've got? I'm guessing one of them is a drip? What are you using to post online - a tablet? I sincerely hope you're on 3G though, coz hospital wi-fi requires you to re-mortgage your house :D What's their food like?

Great news bud, here's to a speedy recovery and a return to normality for you all. Must be top of the list after all the uncertainty. Well now you've got a cuppa!

Well chuffed for ya.

Any chance your gonna get foreign accent syndrome or be able to play the piano etc etc

I asked the Nurse before I had my sigmoidoscopy If I'd be able to play the piano afterwards. She said Erm yeah its a camera up ya butt (or words to that effect) then she asked why. So I told her great I couldn't before i came in

I don't normally don't venture in to GD but saw the thread title and had to post as it's not often you see other people mention Chiari. Glad to hear you are out of surgery and on the road to recovery, wish you the absolute best of recoveries.

My little brother (21 years old now!) has Chiari Type 2 and has had surgery twice in the passed 6 years to try to alleviate the symptoms. The 1st time they removed part of his skull to create more room, the 2nd most recently was to actually remove part of his brain which they referred to as the "tonsils". Although he is better he still struggles when exerting himself and still gets headaches but heart palpitations are no longer an issue and generally his quality of life is much improved over before.

Have to say, we had a lot of issues getting his surgery sorted, follow up appointments after the 1st operation not being taken seriously and cancelled several times. They finally saw the scans which were taken a year after his surgery 2 years after that and took another 6 months to get him an urgent operation booked which was then cancelled a week before and then again on the day!

I'm sure you and your relatives must be massively relieved now though and can only hope that you show good results from the surgery and recover well!
