GoldenEye

Goldeneye is my favourite bond film. :) Brosnan was best imo but the scripts/plots for his later films let him down a bit.

Goldeneye is a spectacular film with only Casino royale beating it for the title of best ever bond movie.

It’s a very easy bond movie to like, it’s one of the few that mixes the lighter moments with the gadgets and so on (pre Bronson films) but still manages to deliver a good story with a bit of substance (casino royale)

couldn't agree more with this.

it's severely gone downhill since craig took over imo.

Goldeneye is an absolute classic bond film, keeping the traditional 'bond is almost invincible' theme, still with a bit of a far fetched story, but still not completely OTT to the point you feel it's crap (a la that one with the ice palace)

Did anyone not enjoy Casino Royale? I couldn't get into it at all
I hate the Bond films which were completely crazy, eg Die Another Day. However, all these gritty realism films are just the opposite direction and some suck.

Well there has only been two for the reboot.

Casino Royale was great, but it's not a totally straight forward Bond film, as with most of the others.

I totally agree with Waster though, that Quantum of Solace was a step backwards and wasn't really much good.

I think all that it's really missing is Q and the gadgets... be good to see them bring it back, but without it getting over the top with invisible cars and stuff.

They cant be trusted not to go ott again so i hope they leave the gadgets out

Easily the best of Brosnan's outings as Bond and a very good film.

As for the mention of Timothy Dalton not being up to much, I have to disagree, he had that dark side to him which I though worked really well.

Not the most popular opinion you've ever held but I'm inclined to agree, when I first watched the films I wasn't all that keen on the departure in style but now having actually read a few of the novels it seems closer to the Bond that Fleming intended. Timothy Dalton wasn't the best Bond but nor was he anywhere near as bad as has been made out subsequently.

Goldeneye is easily Brosnan's best Bond film, and one of my favourite of all the Bond films. However, I thought all his other Bond films were pretty pap.

In terms of my favourite Bond I'd put Connery top because he is the original and still the best, and then Craig second because he is brutal but still retains the style and swagger that Bond ought to have. Dalton was better in my opinion than people gave him credit for. One of my least favourite Bonds was Moore. I enjoyed the films he made because they were entertaining but as a Bond I didn't think much of him, far too comical and lighthearted, and I can't imagine him beating anyone up, let alone being the most deadly spy in the world.

Obviously, the less said about Lasenby the better!
